Are the Browns playing anyone good this week? MillenniumMan831 10-11-2003, 08:39 PM They play at home against the Oakland Raiders at 1:00pm ET. Fun Facts: - The Browns have yet to win at home and Oakland has yet to win on the road this season. - The last time the "Oakland Raiders" were in Cleveland was in the 1980 Divisional Playoffs where "Red Right 88" was born and would spawn other bummers like The Drive, Fumble, Helmet, Beer Toss, ect. I sure hope the Brownies don't underestimate the struggling Raiders. The AFC Champs won't go down without a fight. flinstoned 10-11-2003, 08:50 PM 1980 that is a long time! I guess you had no team for a little while, but still. MillenniumMan831 10-11-2003, 09:04 PM Well, technically the LA Raiders stopped in Cleveland in 1985, but other than that, it's been Cleveland catching the rays in LA for all their games. The Browns were gone from 1996 to their return in 1999. sinatrastar 10-11-2003, 09:44 PM The Raiders look bad this year, but U never know. Brian Damage 10-12-2003, 10:24 AM F*** the Red Sox! Especially Pedro Martinez! MillenniumMan831 10-12-2003, 11:32 AM Caught the highlights on Sportscenter, that looked wild! I still hope the Red Sox make it to Game 7 of the World Series, where Manny Ramierez lets a routine fly ball bounce off his head in the bottom of the 9th to cost Boston the WS. sinatrastar 10-12-2003, 12:42 PM I didnt think you swore Brian. Brian Damage 10-12-2003, 12:54 PM I'm a little passionate. ;) MillenniumMan831 10-12-2003, 05:17 PM Browns win!!! 13-7 when Jerry Rice's knee was ruled out of bounds on 4th down with under a minute left. Rice only had one catch and I don't remember Tim Brown getting any. Big Win! And I bet Coach Butch will rule Holcomb's injury "worse than previously thought" and will start Couch Sunday against the Chargers. I believe that's 24 out of 38 games under Butch Davis that the Cleveland games have come down to the final minute. BubbleBoy 10-12-2003, 07:55 PM Congrats to the Browns. There were a lot of close games today. MillenniumMan831 10-12-2003, 07:59 PM Definitely, good week of football this week. Chiefs edge out the Packers . . . Panthers stay undefeated against the Colts, both in OT. Thank God for NFL Primetime on ESPN, except for all those friggin commercials. Recap a game . . . we'll be right back . . . recap a game . . . more after this, ect. flinstoned 10-12-2003, 08:19 PM Speaking of commercials, games are becoming almost unwatchable from start to finish due to the multiple breaks causing 3:30 minute games regularly. Enough is enough, I think the NFL needs to speed things up, our society is getting faster and much of a less attention span. MillenniumMan831 10-12-2003, 08:33 PM I can understand that. However, if there is one sport I can sit and watch a 4:00+ game of, it's football. You either catch football on Sundays or Monday night or you're out of luck so I enjoy it when it's here. It does stink though when it goes FG, ads, kickoff, ads, couple plays, end of quarter, ads . . . but it's alright. Brian Damage 10-12-2003, 09:21 PM Chiefs are the real deal. sinatrastar 10-12-2003, 10:14 PM I hope, but what about their defense? Brian Damage 10-12-2003, 10:15 PM good defense...great offense. sinatrastar 10-12-2003, 10:20 PM good defense... well not today they gave up 34! But they are better than they showed. Brian Damage 10-12-2003, 10:37 PM just the game itself. sinatrastar 10-12-2003, 10:47 PM No, I go on there occassionally if I have a good one. But I dont want to repeat and I was hoping that we would get a good start on compiling the list in the meanwhile, but ahem, it doesnt seem to be a popular undertaking. Brian Damage 10-12-2003, 10:50 PM I'd join in but it looks very complicated. I'm a dunce! sinatrastar 10-12-2003, 10:58 PM Just copy my latest list and start where I left off putting the words into the list. Then copy that list back into a post. Brian Damage 10-14-2003, 09:57 AM It should end already because I didn't watch last night's game and they lost! BobCobb 10-14-2003, 10:42 AM I thought they would avenge Don Zimmer, but I guess not. Brian Damage 10-14-2003, 10:45 AM That's why I think they'll lose this series. sinatrastar 10-14-2003, 11:17 AM Doug Johnson screwed me and Bolger didnt help enough  sinatrastar 10-14-2003, 01:51 PM This one minute per post is slowing me down! Im sure I would have went for it as well, especially if I had a little beer in me :D Brian Damage 10-15-2003, 10:26 AM I don't think it was interference either, but crazy fans might. KnightFalls 10-19-2003, 12:23 AM That was a good game, Marlins up 1-0 in the series. MillenniumMan831 10-19-2003, 11:14 PM Marlins got toasted. Went to the Browns game today after winning them from a radio station. Ouch . . . Browns lose 26-20 to the previously 0-5 Chargers. Browns were down 23-6 when Kelly Holcomb came in for the struggling Tim Couch and threw 2 quick TD passes. However, RB Tomlinson ran for 200 yards and was way too much for Cleveland to handle. MillenniumMan831 10-21-2003, 11:28 PM Too many wrestlers dying WAY too young. KnightFalls 10-21-2003, 11:35 PM Too many drugs, but I dont know if that is what killed Hawk. MillenniumMan831 10-21-2003, 11:57 PM It really is a shame . . . off the top of my head, I can think of about a dozen who died in their 40s or younger. - Owen Hart - Hawk - Ravishing Rick Rude - Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig - Davey Boy Smith - Brian Pillman - Miss Elizabeth - Kerry Von Erich - Anthony Durante (One of the Pitbulls) - Big Dick Dudley - Yokozuna - Renegade (Rick Wilson) sinatrastar 10-22-2003, 10:57 AM Andre the Giant? 2-1, is the World Series basically over? Brian Damage 10-22-2003, 01:15 PM not yet it ain't. sinatrastar 10-22-2003, 02:26 PM I told you not to worry that last series, didnt I? With Rivera you should be safe and sound. Brian Damage 10-22-2003, 05:45 PM ugh, I'm so sick. I really shouldn't have come into work today. MillenniumMan831 10-22-2003, 08:13 PM Now that the Yankees have survived Josh Beckett, I'd say the Series is close to a lock. sinatrastar 10-22-2003, 09:28 PM I tend to agree with that. sinatrastar 10-23-2003, 09:47 AM Originally posted by Brian Damage not yet it ain't. Two in a row at Yankee Stadum down 3-2 would be very tough. Brian Damage 10-23-2003, 01:03 PM That's true, but they said the same thing about them against the Cubs and they won....so who knows?! MillenniumMan831 10-23-2003, 05:17 PM The Cubs are 'cursed' though. sinatrastar 10-23-2003, 06:03 PM The Brownies seem to be on a little high. What a weak division that is turning out to be. What a weak division that is turning out to be. Well, they are 3-4, but only .5 games out of 1st. I don't know how much of a high they're in considering they lost to the 0-5 Chargers last week, a game I actually attended. However, they're on the road this week which ironically helps their odds. Pretty sad though that Butch Davis won't announce the starting QB, considering one has a fractured leg and a broken ankle, while the #1 draft pick of the new Browns can't be trusted getting the ball past the 50. Oy. Maybe they should put them both in the backfield and make defenses guess who the ball will be snapped to. sinatrastar 10-23-2003, 09:27 PM That's right, I forgot yhey lost. They made a comeback or broken leg guy played well and I thought they won. Dutabi84 10-23-2003, 10:21 PM My Vikes are 6-0, so YAY! Nobody beleives in them, but they'll start having to when they go 16-0! :) MillenniumMan831 10-23-2003, 10:37 PM I believe in them . . . especially if Culpepper can stay healthy and Moss can keep his ego in check. Plus, I'm a Mike Tice fan, he reminds me of my grade school principal. However, remember 16-0 doesn't matter when 12 teams start 0-0 in the postseason. sinatrastar 10-23-2003, 11:04 PM I recall 1998 was it, 15-1 and a loss to the Falcons at home? Dutabi84 10-24-2003, 09:05 AM Yes...that was a very sad day in Vikings history. But thank god Denny Green isn't here anymore. What the hell was he thinking kneeling the ball at the end of the 4th, on the 50 yardline? Damn this angered me! Brian Damage 10-24-2003, 09:40 AM Well, the Vikes should have no problem with my Giants this week. sinatrastar 10-24-2003, 09:49 AM They usually do have a problem with the giants. Brian Damage 10-24-2003, 09:51 AM The Giants are atrocious this year...but as they say, any given Sunday. sinatrastar 10-24-2003, 02:54 PM If they can avoid turnovers they have a shot. Brian Damage 10-24-2003, 07:35 PM Almost time to go home. :) sinatrastar 10-24-2003, 07:58 PM Bonus Brian Damage 10-25-2003, 10:29 AM good morning  DarwinEx 10-25-2003, 10:32 AM Buenas Dias :happyface Brian Damage 10-25-2003, 10:39 AM Well you've been MIA for a couple of days. And slim just walked out the door. BTW, Browns lost today 9-3 to the Patriots. Yikes, now Cleveland's at 3-5 and the much improved Cincinatti Bengals just passed them up in the division. This season doesn't look too good. Brian Damage 10-26-2003, 10:51 PM Trust me Torre will be back and if he isn't, I'll be pissed! MillenniumMan831 10-27-2003, 08:44 PM He said Tagliabue was a slavemaster due to the fines he got. He said he was being targeted because he was black (So, how did Kyle Turley and Jeremy Shockey get fined oodles of dollars?). I may not be an American History ace, but I don't remember the last time a slave was on MTV's Cribs. However, Sapp didn't mention how he would bump into refs several times, kick over pile-ons, run in the opposing team's warmups, take out an opposing offensive lineman, and pick a fight with a coach. He claimed the NFL wouldn't let him promote himself. However, he didn't point out that he is on the cover of the ESPN NFL video game, has numerous posters in his likeness, and celebrates like he fathered a newborn child after a sack. He asked why he had to shut up and conform just becuase he makes millions of dollars. Oh, I don't know, because the NFL and the Tampa Bay Buccanears have a set of rules and regulations that he continuously breaks just to put the spotlight on himself. It makes me sick when a professional athlete not only tries to put himself over the team, but the entire league for the sake of $$$. sinatrastar 10-27-2003, 08:57 PM You tell em. I hadnt heard any of this before. Brian Damage 10-27-2003, 09:04 PM Neither did I...how arrogant is that? MillenniumMan831 10-27-2003, 09:07 PM I caught in on NFL Countdown on ESPN Sunday morning and I believe it was Sunday's Conversation on SportsCenter. Even the guy who conducted the interview, Michael Irvin had trouble defending much of his comments. Brian Damage 10-27-2003, 09:08 PM and Irvin was a cocky SOB in his day. MillenniumMan831 10-27-2003, 09:13 PM That's true. The only thing Irvin defended Sapp on was that no matter how many Irvin or Sapp jerseys the NFL sell, the respective players would never receive a dime from it. Oh, boo hoo. So, they're stuck with $60 million instead of $65 million. Excuse me while I grab a hankie to wipe the tears away. I think the most insulting thing about Sapp's comments was just the idea of him comparing his situation with how the real slaves were treated. It's the most absurd thing I've ever heard. It insults everyone, the memory of slaves, the Bucs, and all the people that had to hear the ignorance spew out of Sapp's mouth. It was a classic case of diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the brain. Brian Damage 10-27-2003, 09:18 PM I absolutely agree. MillenniumMan831 10-27-2003, 09:28 PM (Takes big deep breath) Ok, I'm done now. Thanks for listening.
