March was wearing a false nose for the part and one night, Leigh's wallop set it flying into the air. Leigh caught it with her other hand and gave it back to March, who exited with her hand to her face, and the audience wasn't any the wiser. Years later, toward the end of her Tony Award-winning run in the musical comedy "Tovarich," Leigh actually had a manic-depressive episode onstage, kicking the shins of co-star Jean-Pierre-Aumont, turning her back on him when he sang a love song to her and trying to incite the audience against him, saying, "Let's get the Frenchman!" pandora_spocks 09-28-2003, 12:40 AM Originally posted by PZelda: VICKI!! Georgia's on my Mind 09-28-2003, 12:47 AM The full extent of Laurence Olivier's hatred for Marilyn Monroe is revealed in a new biography of one of Britain's most renowned cinematographers. Britain's leading actor regarded Hollywood's greatest star as an utter "bitch" who lacked talent and sex appeal. Olivier's damning verdict of his co-star is revealed in a biography of Jack Cardiff, the double Oscar-winning cinematographer, who worked with the stars on their 1957 film The Prince and the Showgirl. Conversations with Jack Cardiff, by Justin Bowyer, reveals that Olivier developed a hatred of the American actor that he carried to his death. Twenty-five years after they made the film together, and despite her own tragic death, the actor would still privately refer to her as a "bitch". Cardiff, now 88, says Olivier went out of his way to be a "pain in the arse" to Monroe. His hatred of his co-star seems largely to have been based on her refusal to socialise with the cast and crew, and her obsession with method acting, which led her to question every decision he made as the film's director. She resented his treatment of her. Cardiff says: "She never forgave him for saying to her once: 'Try and be sexy'. "I think she resented him. She used to call him 'Mr Sir', because he had been knighted." pandora_spocks 09-28-2003, 12:47 AM Originally posted by PZelda: VICKI!! I know, I'm just surprised. OJ Simpson, of all people? Basically he just told me I'm a bitch. I don't like to clutter up Cindy's thread with this, but I am unwilling to be lied about in public. This is not the truth. She sent me a PM asking what was on my mind, but it was phrased in a hostile way. I replied that if she would have asked me nicely, I would have told her. I felt sure she would simply come back with, "Alright, I'm asking nicely, what's the problem?" Instead, she sent me another PM demanding that I answer. I sent one back saying that I wouldn't be bullied, and that all she would have had to have done was ask me in a civil way. Once again, I expected that she would come back with, "Okay, I'm asking nicely, what's up?" I certainly would have answered a question phrased in a less hostile way. Instead, she sent me a third PM containing only an insult, and not asking a question. I did not refuse to tell her, I only said that I wouldn't answer a question presented to me in such an unpleasant way. I also didn't call her a bitch. If anyone suggests that what I have just said is not true, I will reproduce all of the PMs here and make it clear which of us is telling the truth. Once again, sorry to clutter up Cindy's thread with this, but I am not willing to have lies, or, at the least, gross distortions, told about me in public. I don't want to talk about this anymore, particularly in posts, I just needed to set the record straight. Tuesday Weld 09-28-2003, 12:12 PM Anyone here? Nyah nyah :p dawsongirl 09-28-2003, 05:03 PM Originally posted by BrandonS I don't like to clutter up Cindy's thread with this, but I am unwilling to be lied about in public. Don't you dare lie about me. All you're trying to do is sound like the big man by making me sound like the bad girl. You've done it to me, you'll do it to Jenny...and you'll do it to any other girl unfortunate enough to trust you. And don't you EVER talk to me again. dawsongirl 09-28-2003, 05:05 PM I apologize to Cindy and everyone, but I'm not gonna let him turn everyone against me just because he wants to be popular or something. He upset Jenny so much he made her sick. I will not let that happen again. Christopher 09-28-2003, 05:10 PM Originally posted by dawsongirl He upset Jenny so much he made her sick.
