My sister Veronica and I had this double act, and my husband Charlie traveled around with us. Now for the last number in our act we did these 20 acrobatic tricks in a row: one, two, three, four, five, splits, spread-eagles, back-flips, flip-flops, one right after the other. So this one night before the show we're at the hotel Cicero, the three of us boozin, having a few laughs, and we run out of ice, so I run out to get some. I come back, open the door, and there's Veronica and Charlie doing number 17, the spread-eagle! Well, I was in such a state of shock that I completely blacked out; I can't remember a thing. It wasn't until later, when I was washing the blood off my hands, I even knew they were dead! dawsongirl 08-30-2003, 12:00 AM Originally posted by Jenny Hey  Damn it, it failed. She could be driving herself at ninety miles an hour - she used to drive that Rolls of hers very fast indeed - and she would miss not a thing that was going on. She would say, 'Did you see that marvellous doorway?' And I would have seen nothing at all. Her eyes took in fifty times what mine did. Victor Steel told a story of when he was driving back from Notley with her and Larry. Vivien saw a tree she didn't recognise on a hill, and shouted suddenly: 'Larry, turn left!' They turned up sidetracks and got near enough. She got out of the car. She used to carry a little knife. She cut off a twig and sent it to the Royal Horticultural Society to find out what it was. Within two weeks she had one growing at Notley. She always pursued things to their end." Congratulations, your school just beat my school. Even my school didn't do that. However, with Junior and Senior dues, anybody in here have to pay dues? However, they went from 25 bucks the beginning of the year and then went to 50 bucks at the end of the year. And you had to pay the dues. No way around it. You didn't get to go the prom w/o paying, didn't get to go to the Senior picnic if you didn't pay. It was just a lot of stuff it effected if you didn't pay. DarleneIllyria 08-30-2003, 01:32 AM Originally posted by PZelda: VICKI!! Buy lockers?! Why? We didn't have to do that here. Every grade has their own section, but you can ask to have your locker moved to a different location if it is hard getting to your locker between classes. I did that sophomore year - my locker was WAY too far away from my classes and I could never reach it before the next bell rang, so I had mine moved to the junior section, where most of my classes were. It was SO much easier. Hang on...BRB gotta switch computers. I'm not even sure. If it was going to repair the school, I sure as hell didn't see any repairs going on. It prob. went to the ********s on the football team. DarleneIllyria 08-30-2003, 01:33 AM Originally posted by dawsongirl  The Humanity! ohno: Bill's been naughty. :nonono: We'll both have quite a time paddling him. Our librarian tried to charge me for a book Ive never even heard of and the damn book was in the library. Now that didn't happen at the school library, but this happened to me years ago at the public library. It was a Sweet Valley High book and the lady said I had it, and I knew I didn't. So I take my ass over to the SVH section and I pull out the book she said I had and I showed it to her. Know your facts before excusing me of something. I'm not a liar. If I had the book, I would've said, yeah, I have the book. But I'm not gonna sit there and let somebody put the blame on me for something I know I didn't have or didn't do. Do you happen to remember that scene at the beginning of "American Grafitti" where Ron Howard is at the school dance with Cindy Williams, and some teacher comes and starts telling him how he'll make his life miserable next year or something, and Ron says something like, "I just graduated, you d**khead?" That was pretty cool. |
