I was inspired by the haiku thread (which I hope still continues) to start this one. Just pick a character or facet of the show and limerick away!

--------------------------------------------------------------

There once was a student named Blair,
Who was known for her looks and blond hair
A beautiful teen
Even thrice Harvest Queen™
But living with her could be a bear

Haha! That's great, '80s!

Here's one:

An Eastland gal named Sue Ann Weaver
Had been a scholastic achiever
But then Helen Hunt
Had her smoking a blunt
And in Season Two we barely see her

'80sSitcoms
07-15-2017, 11:58 AM
Ha! That's a great one too! lol!

Continuing tributes to the Lost Girls:

There once was a brunette named Molly
Who, when women ran things, was quite jolly
She loved to take pictures
But somebody ditched her
Then she became a star in "Woodholly"

(creative license haha, lol)

RetroGuy2000
07-15-2017, 01:06 PM
Haha! That's wonderful!

A pigtailed young tomboy named Cindy
Co-starred with Kim, Lisa, and Mindy
But there were "too many students"
And in a moment imprudent
They fired her, hearts made of flint-y

'80sSitcoms
07-15-2017, 01:46 PM
Ha! Nice one!

There once was a Bates boy named Roger
Who met Nancy and didn't dodge her
They spoke on the phone
When they felt alone
And avoided "the Croc", the old codger

RetroGuy2000
07-15-2017, 02:05 PM
That's awesome!

The Eastland headmaster Steve Bradley
Did thirteen shows happy and gladly
But big changes await us
He came back from hiatus
And his role's not there anymore, sadly

'80sSitcoms
07-15-2017, 02:11 PM
Aww, that's good, but sad! lol...a bittersweet one.

There was once was a Teacher Mahoney
Whose ethics were pure, not baloney
She had rabbits in trouble
And dashed on the double
But her part ended up a tombstone-y

(lol)

There once was a Bradley named Stephen
Who got Mrs. Garrett to peevin'
He thought he was boss
But his speech was at loss
When after 13 shows he was leavin'

OH Nuts!
07-15-2017, 04:36 PM
There once was a tough girl named Jo
Who kept snooty Blair Warner in tow
When Blair had a snit
Jo threatened a bit
This snobby blue blood of the show!

Nice!

Here's a poem which isn't actually a limerick, but I'll stick it here anyway.

Eastland school is hella nifty
Mrs. G is very thrifty
And her charges all are great
Through the years they numbered eight
First she bonded with was Nancy
Sewing for her costumes fancy
Then old Garrett helped another,
Blair the rich girl, with her mother
Cindy needed help with running
Garrett's help was more than stunning
Sue Ann Weaver smoked some dope
Mrs. G was there to cope
Molly, Tootie, Natalie
All were mentored by Ms. G
Lastly entered Jo the hoodlum
Garrett took her to her bosom
Showed her how to dress and dance
And she took them all to France
Sadly, Eastland years would end
Farewell to our Eastland friends!

Whoa whoa, we're getting away from limericks on these last two, lol, but some good stuff there: Retro, yours reminds me of that '80s song "88 Lines About 44 Women", lol.

There was once a male cook named Howard,
Who was anything but a big coward
He helped Mrs. G
Cook food for plenty
And then he went upstairs and showered

(lol)

Yeah, you've totally got the rhtyhm!

There once was a Garrett named Robert
Who was clearly a man, not a Hobbirt (ha)
He couldn't help gambling
And kept right on rambling
'Til Edna left him and moved forward

(okay, so that one didn't exactly end with the proper rhyme---guess ya can't win 'em all! lol)

These are great!:)

I see the rhyme scheme, but is there also a syllable count for limericks?

'80sSitcoms
07-22-2017, 08:32 AM
Not strictly, Alex (and glad you're enjoying the thread!). It all has to do with the flowing of rhythm and emphasis of syllables. But it's pretty much like this:

7-9
7-9
5-6
5-6
7-9

But you wanna try and keep lines 1, 2, and 5 about the same, and lines 3 and 4 about the same.

Now with all this talk of limericks, here's another one, lol:

There once was a Langley gal, Boots,
Whose presence alone was worth hoots
She chummed up with Blair,
Her head full of air,
Ridiculed by Jo, Nat, and "Toots"

(lol)

Liked and desired
Still she was fired

There once was a housemother, Edna,
Who had a surprising dilemma
It was so very weird
Four of her girls disappeared
And then showed up in the bread-na.

^---Haha! That's quite reminiscent of the season 5 Halloween show---clever and fun!

There once was a flood in the basement
Which rose higher and higher in amazement!
Our Cindy went down
(How did she not drown??)
And rescued her spikes from their placement

RetroGuy2000

(Yes, the Lost Girls being in the bread was inspired by the S5 Halloween episode.)

I always loved that moment, and the implication of how life-endangering Cindy's stunt was! And after Mrs. Garrett grabs her and scolds that she could have been "electrocuted!", the camera cuts to Molly with a very dramatic shocked expression---oh, the intensity! lol...I always loved that...and it's funny how when the camera cuts back to Mrs. Garrett and Cindy ("Nobody go near that basement!"), Julie Ann has such an intense suspect look on her face, lol...I wonder what on earth she was thinking there...

"I bet after this stunt, I won't be back next season."

Hahaha!!

And to get back on topic, lol:

There once was a "Facts" second season,
Which got rid of 4 girls (for what reason?)
They did well in school
So it seemed pretty cruel
Because they committed no treason!

YES, definitely! But the most dramatic moment, for me, was Mrs. Garrett, ripping the photo in half, and handing the shreds to the girls. Mrs. G almost never got that angry.

Oh, that is most excellent.

There once were some school-girls from Eastland

Well, you do have a point there! That sure was Mrs. Garrett at one of her angriest moments (perhaps the angriest? This merits investigation and analysis). But just as how that is the most dramatic for you, for me the most dramatic moment in season 1 was unquestionably Cindy Webster vs Sue Ann Weaver in Eastland's most uproarious instant MMA fight to date, lol.

lol thanks, I bet those 4 would appreciate that one, haha. Yours is fun and inventive, I just hate to think of Kim and Mindy being that ruthless, haha.

Let's see, another one...

There was once a rude girl named Margo

Well, good point about the MMA! I think that was both the first time and the last time fisticuffs appeared on the show.. at least, in terms of the girls actually hitting one another (not just threats).

Well, the only one saying anyone was that ruthless is Pamela Adlon, and she wasn't talking about Kim or Mindy. Only Molly felt Mindy was mean.

True, but, we have to remember (for those unfamiliar with Molly's media appearance regarding this) that she was a "captive audience" (lol), and she was asked point blank who the meanest girl on set was, and she didn't expect that question. Plus, she was so nice about it! That's what I loved about her conclusion. She didn't want to be mean about it, and she was just being honest about "a feeling" she had at that time, as best as she could pinpoint it.

]Haha! And now I will forever think of Margo being from Fargo.

Glad we never had to put up with her again :-)

Speaking of that...

There once was a punk kid named Kelly

She threatened our Blair
Then Jo got in her hair

Well, Molly could have said "No one. Everyone was great to work with." Instead, she singled out Mindy as a mean girl. I'm glad she holds no grudges, but I'm also glad she was honest. It gives us a better picture about the events going on behind the scenes.

We do also know there were rumors about reducing the cast prior to the second season, despite what Lisa has said in interviews. So maybe that's why Molly felt intimidated by Mindy's hand-picked-by-Charlotte status. After all, in the pilot, there was no Natalie. Then, suddenly, Mindy's in, Julie Anne's in, Jennifer's out, Jenny O'hara's out, and Felice's role was reduced to almost a background character. Soon, people were counting lines, according to John Lawler. Molly had to feel intimidated when it was clear the writers were focusing on Blair, Sue Ann, and Tootie... and now Tootie had a new best friend, someone hand-picked by Charlotte, the star of the show.

She could have said that, but that would be lying. I still think she answered it in the best possible way. I can see she and Mindy having lunch and clearing things up and hugging and going their ways. :)

Don't forget Laura and her frog! ;) (and people were not counting lines, according to Lisa; but I do not believe Lisa since she never had to worry about counting hers, lol).

I don't know about Molly feeling intimidated, though. If anyone felt intimidated, I would say it would have been Felice, big time, since her character was a lead in the backdoor pilot. Indeed, Felice has even said---with wide eyes---that she went to the producers panicking, "What happened to my character??". Poor Nancy/Felice...

I don't think Molly's confession of Mindy being the "mean girl" had anything to do with her being picked by Charlotte. It sounded like it was simply from her personality on the set, at least to her (it's been a long time since I saw the interview, but that's how I remember it). You could be right, I could be right, who knows, but we just have different speculation on it. And that's just a "fact of life". :)

I don't know about Molly feeling intimidated, though.

But that's what Molly herself says (http://www.bravotv.com/watch-what-happens-live/season-12/episode-170/videos/molly-ringwald-pleads-the-fifth) in the interview! That she was "intimidated", and that "at the time" she thought that "Mindy Cohn wasn't very nice".

If anyone felt intimidated, I would say it would have been Felice, big time, since her character was a lead in the backdoor pilot. Indeed, Felice has even said---with wide eyes---that she went to the producers panicking, "What happened to my character??". Poor Nancy/Felice...

It was probably much the same for Molly, saddled with the "feminist" character, which had few opportunities for scripts. How many Ham Radio and Feminist episodes could the show have, anyway? But then they bring in a new chubby girl who is comic relief, and who consistently gets lines every week, and is suddenly the new best friend of one of the main characters...

That's funny I was thinking of doing one on Terri too.. At least, I thought it was "Terri", since that's the feminine spelling of the name, but I checked online and can only find "Terry", like you used; I forgot her name was spelled that way (and I like that we never saw her in anything but her Eastland track suit, lol).

Yeah, I thought it might be Teri or Terri, so I looked it up on IMDB, and as you saw, it is actually Terry. Which is indeed actually the masculine spelling.

That track suit! We saw her in three seasons of the show, but always in the track suit. I wonder if there was more than one. She was kind of heavy-set in the first episode she was in, but she had slimmed down considerably by her last appearance. I wonder if it was a different track suit.

Wow, I had no idea...or at least, it never registered (that she was heavier).

Speaking of episodes in which Terry appeared:

I find it interesting that you would bring up that episode. I do not remember those relatives of Tootie's ever being seen or mentioned again all the way up until "Crossing the Line". In that episode, we know from one line delivered by Tootie that this couple is now divorced! I find it interesting that they were suddenly divorced with no previous explanation.

Nice bit of continuity, there! It probably wasn't just Mrs. G who had to moonlight to pay the bills. Eastland never seemed to pay its staff well; heck, they went through four headmasters in four years!

Thank you for this inspiration, RG:

If you were an Eastland headmaster,
You were quite the unlucky bastard
Harrison and Parker,
The Crock and "John Lawlor"
Wound up out of work faster and faster

I wrote one too!

There once were four Eastland headmasters
Whose control of the school were disasters!
Crocker, Harris, and Bradley
Departed quite gladly
And Parker left, too, the mean bastard.

Man, we're really doggin' on these guys, lol...only, did they depart quite gladly? Or were they "removed"? All of this is shady and very interesting, lol (but departing quite gladly of course makes for a wonderful rhyme)

It really is a shame what happened with Mr. Parker. He started out pleasant enough and was downright likable in "Under Pressure" and at the end of "Read No Evil" (but of course we feel bad for Mrs. Garrett when he loses her temper at her there), but they made him an out-and-out selfish uncaring world-class jerk by the time "Brave New World" came around.

There once was a headmaster named Parker,
Whoses presence got darker and darker
Though no one would dare it
He was mean to our Garrett
So they crossed out his part with a marker

If we're talking in-universe, they might have gladly left, since they were in and out so quickly. In real life, John L has indicated that he was miffed, but that he was more concerned about the girls who got canned. No idea about the others.

I suppose the producers might have offered John Lawler the same deal as the Lost Girls: small guest roles for the sake of continuity. But if they did, he didn't take them up on it, and went the Geri Jewell route.

Yeah, he definitely became a jerk, but I suppose that's what happens to people put under a lot of pressure by the board to keep enrollments up, etc. And since we know Eastland would be forced to go co-ed just five years later, it seems as though Parker and whoever came after him were ultimately unsuccessful.

Yeah I meant the characters, not the actors, since that was the context of your poem and I think it's safe to assume all the actors were fired or let go (unless I learn otherwise). I myself doubt the producers offered John anything; I think he went the way of Jenny O'Hara: you're out, STAY OUT lol. They already had a new headmaster named in "The New Girl, Part II" so it seems likely he wasn't considered for anything (and I double-checked his last name, and it is indeed "Lawlor"; I thought it was, but you had me doubting myself just enough to check, lol).

Well, they would have asked before the season began, so having named Mr. Harris in the first episodes doesn't mean much to me: once they realized JL wasn't going to come back to do guest episodes, they needed to name a new headmaster. It seems weird to me that they would ask Molly, Julie, Julie Anne, and Felice back, but not ask John.

And both Felice and Geri have described the producers' offerings of guest-starring roles as being negotiations: they'd offer a number, then the actors would counter. Geri felt insulted by the single appearance she was offered in Season Six, and chose to walk. I suppose John could have been offered the same sort of deal. Mr. Harris only appeared once.

Really? It doesn't seem weird to me at all. On the contrary, it seems weird to me they would ask him back. It was clear they wanted to focus on the core five, and they didn't even have a headmaster on screen again until the season finale of season 2 (wow, something I hadn't realized until I just now researched). So my theory, unless Mr. Lawlor himself posts here that I am wrong, is that they cut him out by saying they were eliminating the headmaster role, and that's why they just used a "throwaway name" when Mrs. Garrett tells the girls they were all expelled; then when they needed a real on-screen headmaster for a script 15 episodes later, they just decided to bring on a one-time headmaster and kept the same name.

And both Felice and Geri have described the producers' offerings of guest-starring roles as being negotiations: they'd offer a number, then the actors would counter. I don't think he was personally, but again, I am open-minded to admit otherwise if he tells us so, lol. As for Geri, if I recall correctly, I believe it was her agent who was insulted for her, and he told her she should walk away, so she thought about it and did so.

"Gossip" wasn't actually the season finale (its production number is 2-09 and several sources state that "Gossip" was taped in January 1981 and first aired on January 21st, 1981 (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?p=4581100#post4581100)). I think Wiki just uses the order the episodes appear on the DVDs. At any rate, that's not the order the episodes aired or were filmed in. "Gossip" wasn't the season finale, and it wasn't taped 15 episodes after "The New Girl, Part 2"; it was taped seven episodes later.

And a big clue about who would have been invited back for that episode is seeing who we know definitely were invited back for that episode: the rest of the first season cast. And it's interesting that that's also the first appearance of an Eastland headmaster. Coincidence? I think not.

Once JL turned them down, I believe they re-wrote the script for "Gossip", casting a new guy for a single episode and also re-writing some dialog in "The New Girl, Part 2" to lay the groundwork for the new headmaster. The scripts would have been written after the writers' strike but before the first episodes were taped, in November 1980.

That's true. I wish she hadn't left, because then there was no more Geri, either, and the producers, I contend, gradually began thinking of recurring guests as disposable, and not important to the show's continuity, which led to massive turnover in new characters, most of whom we never got to know because they were gone in a season or two.

I think so, lol. ;) Okay so the tape dates were different, but my thoughts are still the same. I don't believe he was ever considered for season 2 (hence "Mr. Harris" suddenly being a new headmaster for the sophomore episode; they kept the same new headmaster seven episodes later, so why invent a new one in the first place unless Mr. Bradley was out of the picture?). I think they liked the girls for consistency, but didn't care about having the same headmaster. Obviously we disagree here (again, lol), but like I said, I'm open-minded to admit I'm wrong if we learn truth which is otherwise.

Now, back to topic, lol:

Yeah, clearly he took the wrong approach with Jo, but she was completely out of line. She should have tried to talk with him, and then, if that failed, talked with a dean. Instead, she ruined his Eastland career.

I always thought it would have had more impact if instead of Alison, it had been Nancy in this role, as a new mother. It would have explained Nancy's absence in the fourth season, and would have been a better farewell episode for Nancy than "Green-Eyed Monster", her last episode until Season Eight.

Of course, "Nancy-kins" just doesn't have the same ring to it, and your episode guide has a much better solution for all the characters anyway... they never went away! :happyface

EXACTLY!

Wow, I don't think this has ever come up on this board. Every time I watch this episode I think the EXACT same thing: "We never knew any 'Alison' before Jo's arrival, but we knew the other girls; why didn't they have Nancy be the pregnant teenager??" She always went on and on about Roger...it would have made sense to have had Nancy become pregnant, then leave school (which could have been explained away in passing dialogue), then come back with her baby. A bittersweet path for Nancy, but it would have fit in so well with continuity had Roger been the father (and of course, in a bit of fantasy here, it would have been great to have had the other three Lost Girls show up at the cafeteria in a "homecoming scene" with Nancy and to meet her baby Emily [was she named after Tumpy's stoned roommate? haha] )

Of course, "Nancy-kins" just doesn't have the same ring to it

lol, true...and, by having a "new" old girl, the writers could have crafted any backstory details they'd wanted. But, with making it Alison instead of Nancy, it would have been nice if Blair had said Alison had been a student at Eastland "a couple of years" before Jo arrived. That way we the audience would immediately realize "Ohhh, so this Alison was there 'before screen time', the year before season 1 took place."

and your episode guide has a much better solution for all the characters anyway... they never went away! :happyface

Thanks, and true, as juicy as it is to have Nancy and Roger irresistibly give in to their teenage passion and create little Emily in the backseat of Roger's car, I would rather keep her around!

This would have been a good, meaty role for Felice Schachter. A nice send-off, of sorts. And it would have had a lot more impact for the audience, knowing that Nancy was a semi-regular. Instead of just a Very Special Episode, they could have had a moment that changed the series.

Plus, Nancy apparently already had gone pretty far with Roger, based on her own comments and what Natalie said in "Sex Symbol":

Nancy: Don't do anything I wouldn't do.

Natalie: Thanks, Nancy! That gives me a lot of leeway!

(and of course, in a bit of fantasy here, it would have been great to have had the other three Lost Girls show up at the cafeteria in a "homecoming scene" with Nancy and to meet her baby

Yeah, it's nice that Nancy "escaped" that path, but at the same time, when I watch the episode, part of me sighs that it's Alison and not Nancy we're seeing at the center of this story (no offense, Alikins).

Having just re-watched Graduation, part 1 and 2, I was inspired. Not really a limerick, but what can you do?

When it came time for Heather McAdam's screen test
Producers told her to act like a huge pest
She ordered pineapples by dozens or more
And then knocked them onto Eastland's bare wood floor
She ruined the cupcakes, and spoiled souffles
She caused such commotion she scared Edna away
Ms. Garrett fled Eastland, and opened a shop
And four of her girls came with, so she would stop!
But try as she might, she messed everything up
And before they all knew it, the school went belly up!
Producers should know not to hire a royal
Unless it's a sitcom you had wanted to spoil!

It was just an observation on a much-loathed character, haha (by me at least, lol).

Oh, I don't loathe her. Not when there's Pimppa, Beverly Ann, Kelly Affinado, Bull from Night Court, Andy, George, Jo's random husband, Kevin, etc, etc.

lol, thanks. It was so horrendous...the oldest-looking "32" ever! lol (that age revelation has been a jaw-dropping discussion on this board before; I just researched on Google, and Jenny O'Hara was actually 37, haha...but still a very matronly-looking 37!)

Weirdly enough, Joannie Cunningham had that exact same 'do. (It was atrocious on her as well).

Good recap on the Steve/Blair relationship! lol

From another viewpoint:

There once was a delivery van
Which was owned by a frisky pre-man
It watched he and Blair
Emit angst in the air
As only two teenagers can

Haha! A POV from the van! Nice!

"Bull"? Aw c'mon, he was just a guest star! lol

I don't dwell on "loathing" Alexandra; in fact, I forget about her unless you mention or or she appears in an episode. However, when she does appear, I am just "ugh!"-ing until she's gone, lol (and I'm definitely with you on Kelly!).

Gives rather a new direction for some future limericks, lol. Such as, remember the Muppets poster above Tootie's bed in season 2? :

No, for me, Alexandra was the show's last attempt at Eastland to provide some kind of character continuity, actually showing other recurring students at the school. During the first three years at Eastland, we saw Cindy, Sue Ann, Molly, Nancy, Tootie, Jo, Blair, Natalie, Miko, Terry, and Brenda. But, aside from Alex, there were no other recurring students, and only the core four girls appeared during Season Four. Alex was the producers' last attempt at showing a functioning girls' school with other students besides the four overachievers that seemingly did everything at that school.

The writers had become so focused on keeping these four girls together with Mrs. G that I feel like they forgot that a school should have other students: students who would also be writing for the newspaper, who would also be in the drama club, who would also be on the alumni welcoming committee, and that we should occasionally see these students regularly. Alex was the last Eastland student who fulfilled that role.

I thought if any poster were to be given such prestige, it would have been the New Yorker poster that was on the set for seven years (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/folepisodeguide.html). I guess I'll need to remedy that!

There once was a New Yorker poster

It hung there for years

It threw itself in a composter!

*Artistic license, as we don't know the reason for the New Yorker poster's suicide. It could have been boredom from hanging there, or it might have been frightened by all the huge hair and shoulder pads and other '80s fashion trends which had come to a head during season seven.

Hey now, I don't call two appearances "periodically" or "repeatedly", which "recurring" begs, lol ;)

Actually, just thinking about it, personally I would say a character has to be in at least 4 episodes in 1 season to earn the status of "recurring"; at the bare minimum.

Well, but she was a failed attempt, lol (at least for me). I do appreciate what you're saying, I just did not like her character (also nothing against Heather McAdams from me; I was completely fine with her portrayal as 'Cat" on Sisters, lol).

Really though, two for you is "recurring"?? That does not fit "recurring"s definition of "periodically" or "repeatedly"; "repeated", yes, but not "repeatedly". I would not even grant Steve the title of "recurring" for appearing in 2 out of 13 shows.

I wasn't saying she wasn't. I just said I appreciated what you were saying, and that I just didn't like the character. But of what you are saying here, Terry and Brenda and Miko made more lasting impressions on me than Alexandra ever did (epsecially that Brenda, haha); but then again, I don't care for the princess, so I guess I shuffle her out of my memory bank as soon as she's off-screen, lol (plus, I grew up with the other three as peripheral parts of my childhood FOL viewing experience).

Recurring just means 'occurring more than once', though.

Oh, not me: Alex's four appearances were more memorable for me than Miko's two, Terry's five, or Brenda's three, possibly because she had a somewhat larger role, befitting her stature as a princess.

Recurring just means 'occurring more than once', though.

That would be "reocurring", which would work; but not "recurring".

"The difference between the two verbs is very slight—an event that reoccurs is an event that repeats at least one time, but not necessarily more than that. An event that recurs is an event that repeats many times."

https://www.grammarly.com/blog/recur-reoccur/ (recur vs reoccur)

So for instance I would say Steve reoccurred, instead of recurred.

Good evidence, there, with a very solid citation. However, this working actress, offering advice on acting roles, (https://thoughtsonacting.blogspot.com/2013/07/defining-acting-roles-on-your-resume.html) says a recurring role, in Hollywood-speak, just means "The actor returns as the same character over multiple episodes, either on a standing contract or contracted periodically, with payment based on the terms negotiated and the number of appearances."

That's a good one too---and even though clocks are usually kinda background visuals, you're right---no one EVER looked at it, did they?? Isn't that Mr. Bradley's office? It's got diplomas on the wall, a desk near the door, and trophies along the back wall. On the desk is a standard office phone, those twin bankers' pens you'd see in any principal's office, and the cash box he's likely just pulled out of his desk (it certainly doesn't normally sit there, or they couldn't use the bankers pens, plus Nancy asks him to keep it out). On the other side of the door is a short book case. Seems like standard office decor.

I wonder what happened to most of the FOL Eastland props? Were they left behind when production facilities were moved from Metromedia to Universal Studios? Did they take them over to Universal? Oh! Haha, I see where you're coming from...yeah, but this board has been largely inactive for a month, and it's been a while since I got out my quill and ink, lol, so I forgot about that. I just assumed y'all would know I was just having fun, lol.

Understood! Just didn't seem like you to not mention the "poetic license" part as a footnote at the bottom of the poem. I was like, "What happened to '80s!?"

They stayed up all night long
Singing the Facts of Life song
And songs 'bout Blair, Cindy, and Jo

If I can I’m going to try to rework the limerick...but it’s hard to find things that rhyme with Natalie. But I always liked her character and wanted to try to do a limerick about her.

Ah no need to redo it, it describes her nature most of the time.

Another awesome one, Oh Nuts!

And I agree that Natalie was very rarely catty. Blair, sure. Boots, absolutely. Even Sue Ann, Nancy, and Cindy could get catty: I'm thinking of "built like a school bus", "thunder thighs", "look who's talking", "she should be rooming with Home Run Helen"-type comments.

But Natalie was rarely the catty type. I think the limerick fits her GREAT!

And don't forget her cattiest moment in season 1! It's so unlike her that it always catches me off guard!

Molly: "The front of the yearbook, wow!"

Catty Natalie: "Even Sue Ann, in her days of glory, never made that!"

OOOOoooo! GREEN BUUURNNNNNNN! lol

Personally I disagree with "built like a school bus", as that's a heated argument with shouting out-and-out insults. I think of "catty" as being more "sly" or "digging" (with a hint of style, haha). But this could all be semantics, lol.

No, not Natalie...for some reason, she just really hits a different character note here and chews up the chance to "dig" at Sue Ann, needling her, and trying to egg her into a "cat fight"!

How "catty"! :cat:
