RetroGuy2000 12-27-2018, 12:05 AM Personally I disagree with "built like a school bus", as that's a heated argument with shouting out-and-out insults. I think of "catty" as being more "sly" or "digging" (with a hint of style, haha). But this could all be semantics, lol.
Sue Ann had recently (just two months earlier) gone on a starvation diet, causing her to faint in front of everyone. Everyone knew she was experiencing extreme worries about her weight. Worries that were totally unjustified, as she wasn't overweight at all.
Cindy knew this, and yet made slams about her Sue Ann's weight nonetheless. It was an unnecessary dig, as Sue Ann was not built like a school bus. If it wasn't catty, it was petty: totally unnecessary, given the recent circumstances.
Natalie was definitely catty in "Running", getting what I call her "prevenge" for the Lost Girls' cattiness in "Sex Symbol", where Cindy again is quite catty toward not just Natalie but also Helen.

Yeah, Facts of Facts references how there are a lot of the jokes about Sue Ann being fat, especially by Blair.
OR the lost girls were getting revenge on Natalie for being mean there ;)

Yes, they do observe the weight digs... but we expect this from Blair. When it comes from Cindy, it's quite a shock. But we discover that Cindy is no Miss Innocent herself.
OR the lost girls were getting revenge on Natalie for being mean there ;)
A dish served cold... much like rice pudding...
'80sSitcoms 12-27-2018, 12:57 AM C'mon, these are kids (teens, but still). The girls got into a fight, and kids thoughtlessly yell and insult each other when they get angry. After all, Sue Ann did just essentially call Cindy a "pig face" in front of all their friends, so I'm sure she got very hurt/humiliated/hot-headed at that moment! (there's my quota of "h" words for the night  ) At that moment I can just feel Cindy's heat rising, lol.

Cindy Schmindy, I find it much more interesting with Sue Ann getting catty with Natalie, after Natalie really needled her in "Running". OOOOooooo! (heehee)
(Nat's such the affable jokester, I wonder if after her shoulder-gripping catty dig Sue Ann later was like, "And what was with Natalie? What did I ever do to her??" lol)

Oh, Sue Ann wasn't Miss Innocent, either.
But ultimately, Mr. Bradley is responsible for the whole mess. Those girls would never have started in on each other without his goading.
It's nice to see that Sue Ann and Cindy stayed "buddies forever" despite that incident.

There's another theory!
But would Bradley's ego ever allow him to stoop to cleaning up after horses? He seems a bit too haughty for that line of work.

Haha! But Prototype Monica soon changed to Monica Monica. How long would that Monica be able to keep Mr. Bradley occupied in the stable?
And what of Miss Mahoney? The only reason she'd go in the stable is to get those rabbits in trouble!

Who cared for Sue Ann, and caressed her
But then Blair saw them touching
And started her judging
It caused a bad start that semester

Sue Ann was so kind to Cindy that year: befriending her, helping her with track, and just being a good friend. I'm not at all surprised that Cindy developed a crush on her.

I'm not talking about a romantic crush, I'm just talking about a girl-crush one girl may develop for an older girl who is kind to her.

Hmmm, interesting...I don't know that I would call it a girl crush, but I can see what you mean. I think I would say she maybe started off having a girl crush on her, which then developed into a mutual best friendship.
Hmm, Ive never heard that term.
You haven't?? You've never heard of a girl crush or a man crush?
It's, like, where you really, really like someone of your own gender so much that you totally admire them and you're all giddy over them in a completely platonic way. When the focus is on celebrities, you just love the idea of if they knew you existed and thought you were cool enough to wanna actually voluntarily hang out with you and get to be your friend.
People nowadays have discussions and Q&As about who your celebrity "man crush" or "girl crush" is.

It definitely did. We saw that relationship blossom and grow, and it wasn't the same kind of relationship at the beginning that it was in the end. And while they both seemed close to Nancy as well, there was something special about the Cindy-Sue Ann friendship: "buddies forever" seemed the appropriate terminology; "pals to the end", and we witnessed them being pals from the very first episode, almost to the end (43 episodes from the end of the show).
