I'm going to write a review on the Last movie you saw thread. So I won't post all about it here.;) Just that is was THAT good! :)

I will do a spoiler alert here, but you can see that in the preview too! The guys Mom reminded me of Grandma Romano when she was finding all those girls for Max after he made the pass at Barbara in the Nearness of you, but with Pakistani girls for her Son to meet to stay in their culture! ! That was funny!! :D And Ray was hen pecked in this movie like he was in Everyone Loves Raymond!:(

But it was sad in parts, funny in parts , VERY ROMANTIC!!! And I just LOVE Kumail Nanjiani :heart: ! What a sweetheart he is! The story was actually ABOUT him and his real wife!! He played himself!!;) The wife and other characters were actresses and actors though! ;)

Yes!! It was a beautiful love story! And while I was watching, I knew it was a true story , but I wasn't aware that it really WAS the story of the actor ! :eek: I thought he was just playing the real guy , but he wasn't. He was playing himself! And the actress playing his Wife was a good likeness to the real Wife!!! ;)

I DO like him! ;) And it is cool to see a Muslim who doesn't fit the terrorist stereotype! :) He's really a cool, really sweet guy, and although the people in the movie weren't his real family it was based on them, and his whole family were wonderful people!:) Just that they were old fashioned and they believed in arranged marriages and staying in their own culture.:confused: But other than that they were lovely people!;) Nice to see Muslims portrayed in a positive way! :)

But his parents really ended up excepting and welcoming his American wife into the family! ;)

A shame we don't get HBO though! But I will look out for him in other things! ;)

We went up north to a small town that my Grandparent's bought a cabin at that they open in the summer! We did lots of fun stuff- we went to the beach, went on nice, long walks in the wooded areas that are really nice! But their house doesn't have internet, so often we would go to the libraries for a hot second to get internet. :wave:

I have been feeling pretty good actually. Did some retail therapy today in the horrendous weather and got myself a bunch of stuff I don't really need including some comfy shoes and some cute necklaces and earrings and some new shirts. All at a discount store that you really have to pick through but you find some good bargains there. Also I had a coupon. :)

Sounds like ALICE and ONE DAY AT A TIME might be leaving Logo before the end of the summer since both are going to be airing on Antenna -- ODAAT starting 7/23 and Alice in the fall. Viacom's scale of Economics is more commercials - more revenue across all their channels - someplace along the line - most likely after the Paramount/CBS Split where Paramount got Viacom's channels, this started.

LOGO's only problem as a concept is there is not enough LBGTQ programming so they are using it as a dumping ground for a butchered TV LAND 2 with lighthearted comedies that sorts "fix" the channel since there is plenty of material out there. If Viacom pulled the plug, even with the network partly LBGTQ they would get a very bad backlash from that community.

Think of LOGO channel this way. Originally Nick and what became A&E shared a channel - Nick was till 8pm and A&E was 8pm to 6am - then the two split and A&E got their own channel and Nick@Nite was born.

Look, editing sucks, we all agree on that point, but nothing is going to change, and if the show stays on another 2 weeks,2 months,2 years it's just how things are - not only ODAAT and ALICE but the other shows that are airing edited across ALL the Viacom networks. I guess also look at I LOVE LUCY then if we're looking at shows frequently in syndication-- and THE TWILIGHT ZONE. What's next? Logo airing butchered versions of Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley? They're trying to copy Antenna TV and Me-TV but are failing. I hope Logo just goes to an all-RuPaul all the time approach. For a company as rich as Viacom, they certainly don't need 48 minutes of commercials in Logo. If Antenna and Me can survive having only 12 mins an hour of advertising, so can they. Or less. It's ridiculous. If they truly were given digitally remastered uncut prints from Sony (unlikely, unless Logo of course forked out millions of dollars for new prints).

Or just dump them all on TV Land. That works too. We'll see what the prints look like of ALICE when they come on Antenna -- it'll be interesting since every network that's aired ALICE has edited it themselves, what ends up happening. Viacom can certainly afford to pay Logo to make more original series. They have the money.

I can't wait to see some Max :heart: ! I'm glad that they focused on the Ann/Julie/Barbara family years and not the episodes centered on Ann's career or love life or ALEX or when the girls were all grown up. But, I do want to see some Max and Sam (don't judge me, Head of the Class rocked and Charlie was sexy!).
