My name is Anna Karenina (real name Elyse) and I thought it would be fun to have a general discussion thread about the show and whatever else anybody wants to talk about.

There are so many funny moments on the show from Spence and Danny getting married so they can get a free TV to Doug having an upstairs/downtairs wife to Holly being employed as Arthur's dog walker to Carrie getting the Value Vision or was it Vision Village? :cool: laser surgery treatment.

Yes, Danny even dumped his girlfriend for Spence. AND Danny made Spence think the waitress at Cooper's wasn't into him so Spence wouldn't get a girlfriend and leave him behind.:lol:

I love it when Deacon kind of gives them the side eye about their unique, non sexual but strangely intimate relationship.

They are kind of like the Oprah and Gayle of the sitcom world. :lol: :wave:

Deacon was the only "normal" person on the show if you think about it. Kind of like the voice of reason character.

The only thing I really know about this show is Jerry Stiller was in it, who was George's father on Seinfeld. Oh, and of course the annoying talentless Leah Remini is also in it (Sorry, King fans. Just personal opinion.)

Well, Betty White said to her face on The Talk that she was one of the funniest actresses that was ever on television so I will just go with her opinion and the millions of fans like myself who love her.

Spence is awesome. I know Patton is known for his stand up, and I do enjoy his narrating of The Goldbergs. But he will always be Spence to me.

This is one of the shows the wife, daughter and I always watched during it's original run.

My daughter then went on to become a huge fan of Patton's comedy. She even texted me one time all excited because he popped up in the horror comedy Dude Bro Party Massacre III:lol:

It's a silly over the top gory film. It's made to look like a cheap 80's slasher film. And they exceed at that.:)

Yeah, through his stand up he made a lot of people aware of the obscure 70's horror flick Death Bed: The Bed That Eats, it was considered lost until its DVD release, then Patton talked about it and made it more popular. There were a few threads on the old IMDB forums for the movie with people saying they were led there by Patton.
I'm proud to say though, Baby Torgo heard about it from me first (sorry Spence!)

I went through my complete collection (the cheap spindle one) and popped in Doug Less too and couldn't find that scene either.

I think I was confusing that turban thing with Jack from Will and Grace in season 2 with that towel on his head while he was painting his nails.

All of these films look very intriguing. I have seen The Odd Couple of course and bits of The Out of Towners and David and Lisa and all of The Children's Hour. The others I have definitely heard of and I have to say I am impressed with the titles. Your wife has a wonderful taste in cinema as well and I need to check them out along with Death Bed.

Audrey Hepburn? Exquisite.

Jodie Foster? A national treasure. Sometimes a little Freaky. ;)

I do have to criticize the lack of Ronn Moss appearing in any of them, though. ;) :wave:

All of these films look very intriguing. I have seen The Odd Couple of course and bits of The Out of Towners and David and Lisa and all of The Children's Hour. The others I have definitely heard of and I have to say I am impressed with the titles. Your wife has a wonderful taste in cinema as well and I need to check them out along with Death Bed.

Audrey Hepburn? Exquisite.

Jodie Foster? A national treasure. Sometimes a little Freaky. ;)

As Leah Remini was a devout Scientologist I was always surprised that she was involved in the psychiatry episodes such as the one with William Hurt. I think I remember reading that Kirstie Alley was the only ex Cheers cast member who wouldn't appear on Frasier because he was a psychologist. Needless to say, I am glad she is on the other side of that world.
