View Full Version : Welcome to Coopers! The King of Queens General Discussion Thread! Anna Karenina 03-09-2017, 11:18 PM Arthur's blue eyes really stand out in this photo. Just like his son Ben's. Torgo 03-09-2017, 11:20 PM "I LOVE MY LIFE" Personally, Julia gets on my nerves. But in Ovary Action, Janet interrupts them during procreation sex and Doug says "I couldn't make love to Julia Roberts right now." Of course Carrie helpfully brings up Alyssa Milano to get him started and says. "She's hot. And her name is a cookie!" :happyface New Zealand sounds divine. New Orleans would be one big mardi-gras. :) I couldn't blame Doug, not with the parents right across the hall. And them knowing what you're doing. Torgo 03-09-2017, 11:21 PM http://i1141.photobucket.com/albums/n599/smerdly/smerdly126/vlcsnap-2017-03-09-19h09m33s740_zps2cfvrdmt.png (http://s1141.photobucket.com/user/smerdly/media/smerdly126/vlcsnap-2017-03-09-19h09m33s740_zps2cfvrdmt.png.html) Torgo 03-09-2017, 11:22 PM I am chuckling at the goofy smiles on Carrie's face there. Doug. "Pleasure doing business with ya!" This ep in a way parallels the episode where they decide to do everything separately including vacations. Anna Karenina 03-09-2017, 11:31 PM I couldn't blame Doug, not with the parents right across the hall. And them knowing what you're doing. Yeah, hard to work up the enthusiasm. Anna Karenina 03-09-2017, 11:32 PM  This ep in a way parallels the episode where they decide to do everything separately including vacations. They filmed 2 movies during the time they weren't speaking to each other, and they aren't portrayed as buds, and most of their routine was done with other people. Oddly enough both of the films: The Time Of Our Lives, and Little Giant I think are two of their best films. I think partly due to the fact the writers couldn't rely on the old A&C comedy routines that got recycled through out their movies. Then when they finally split for good. Lou did one last movie, his only solo (The 50 Foot Bride Of Candy Rock) , he passed before it was released.:( When It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World was being cast, Bud was approached to make an appearance. Bud said he couldn't do it without Lou. I watch TCM a lot and they never seem to show their movies. Maybe I will order the TCM guide so I don't miss them. Thanks for the scoop about those films and their relationship and how loyal of Bud to not make that movie without his partner. No matter what they went through they still had that comedy team bond like Martin and Lewis. Linked together forever. :) Can we think of a male comedy duo like that today? Well, life is a circle and I guess we could say to a much lesser extent, Kevin James and Adam Sandler or Kevin James and Ray Romano. :D The Chuck and Larry thing was a piece of **** though. :D Anna Karenina 03-19-2017, 11:06 AM http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af351/Torgo70/Ringu/art_zpsyomfqupf.jpg (http://s1023.photobucket.com/user/Torgo70/media/Ringu/art_zpsyomfqupf.jpg.html) You Can LICK That Lollipop But You Can't LICK ME, Mister! :D :D :D    Anna Karenina 03-19-2017, 11:39 AM Could you point me toward the whisk? :D Torgo 03-19-2017, 12:05 PM I love Time of Their Lives!!! When AMC was still a classic film channel they would air them all the time. I have their Universal movie collection box set, the case looks like a trunk (Mrs T bought it for my birthday years ago), then their non Universal movies I had to pick up separately. Yes, and here's a good book. Jerry Lewis' Dean And Me: A Love Story. Interesting and very funny. Jerry played the moron of the duo, but in real life he was in charge, he set up all of the appearances, he made the deals, all that mattered to Dean was if there was a golf course close by. They were like brothers. For today. Though they haven't done as much, but Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, with their movies like Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, World's End, Paul, and going back their TV show Spaced. Seth Rogen and James Franco are fun together. Also guys like Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, and Vince Vaughn all work together a lot. But yeah, there really aren't comedy teams anymore. Thanks for the information about Jerry and Dean. I remember the TV movie with Sean Hayes, did you see it? They definitely made Jerry seem like the bad guy for want of a better word but they Dean didn't come off too well himself. I can see Jerry's "take charge" attitude even to this day in his nineties. ;) I need to find that book you recommended. :) Mrs. T got you such a cool present with their movies in a trunk. Very clever. I bought the cheap version of the complete KOQ but their other packaging looked really cool. I also bought most of the individual seasons as they came out. I am trying to think of more teams, I guess Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. Also the Ghostbuster/Bridesmaids people team up a lot. But nobody can beat the originals. Carrie wants to set Spence up with a shy girl named Jenny, and it is revealed that Spence is a 31 year old virgin. It is hard to say what his status in that area was with the continuity issues but we know that he never truly learned how to love until he met his soulmate, Danny Heffernan.
