i personally like hp (used to work for them), but realistically model to model they can really change - they are all basically made in china or taiwan and branded here so the most important thing is to read a lot of reviews and wait for a good one to go on sale

i personally like hp (used to work for them), but realistically model to model they can really change - they are all basically made in china or taiwan and branded here so the most important thing is to read a lot of reviews and wait for a good one to go on sale

Yeah, I was shocked to see how cheap they were these days when I was looking at them. The one I had was from 2004 and I used to literally abuse that thing and the worst that ever happened was the CD ROM drive went out on it, but I never even used it. And the kicker was that it was one of those hot-swappable ones that you could just pop out and put a new one in. :lol:

The only reason I stopped using it was that the inverter went out in the screen and I had no desire to attempt to repair the screen on a 7 year old (at the time) laptop.
