The theme to Laverne and Shirley. The show itself was awful, but loved the theme song.
Hawaii 5-0 is up there also.
Honorable mention to WKRP.

Yong Fang 12-04-2017, 10:33 PM The theme to Laverne and Shirley. The show itself was awful, but loved the theme song. Hawaii 5-0 is up there also. Honorable mention to WKRP. A2theQ 01-12-2018, 01:01 PM GOTTA BE GOLDEN GIRLS Abner Trotter 01-13-2018, 09:55 PM Toss up between Hawaii Five-O and the Man from U.n.c.l.e. 80sTrivia 02-06-2018, 09:07 AM The Golden Girls for me, too, just for sentimental reasons. I felt it really encapsulated the premise of the show perfectly! :) um 02-06-2018, 08:26 PM i almost hate myself for it but I like the most original theme song from The Brady Bunch sung by Peppermint Trolley. The lyrics are not what I like but the way they are sung. The tune and the voices were just so 1960s TV. I also like the tune that plays at the beginning of The Captain Kangaroo show. I can hear everyone laughing at me. Of course there are other theme songs or tunes I like. I will post when I think of them. MISST3 02-09-2018, 08:51 PM Hands Down, the theme from St Elsewhere and The Fugitive! Shuggie 04-05-2018, 05:47 PM Dark Shadows or Hawaii 5-0 Wavy 04-20-2018, 03:57 PM Bonanza. The whole opening was great. Ryan Chamberlain 04-21-2018, 10:49 AM Growing Pains. As Long As We Got Each Other. The full version is pure 80s awesomeness. MA 04-21-2018, 11:20 AM Another theme song I like would have to be the Happy Days theme. SitcomsHeydayfan 04-21-2018, 07:26 PM For an instrumental it's Too Close For Comfort all the way! Bewitched in 2nd. But for non-sitcoms Airwolf & the original MacGyver had the best theme songs. For soaps it's Dallas & no one else is even close. For regular theme songs I like Alice, the Jeffersons, & Gilligan's Island. howierules86 05-12-2018, 11:37 AM Instrumental: 1. Head of the Class 2. The Office 3. Parks & Recreation Lyrics: 1. The Golden Girls 2. WKRP in Cincinnati 3. Mary Tyler Moore Show AMackII 05-20-2018, 06:57 AM Matlock Theme(both NBC & ABC eras) Little_stinker 05-31-2018, 12:16 PM The original Hawaii Five-O and Mission Impossible come to mind. MA 08-02-2018, 10:43 AM The Home Improvement theme is pretty catchy in my opinion. Little_stinker 08-02-2018, 01:04 PM How could I forget the theme song (the Perry Como version)from "Here Come the Brides" . tlc38tlc38 11-24-2018, 11:00 AM I'm gonna say Petticoat Junction!! :) Come ride the little train that is rollin' down the track to the Junction !!! PETTICOAT JUNCTION!!! Forget about your cares it is time to relax and the Junction, PETTICOAT JUNCTION!!!! Etc. Etc.;) Uncle Joe’s moving kinda slow and the junction, petticoat junction! Svenfan1234 11-24-2018, 11:32 AM Even though I hate the show, I would have to say the Gimme a Break theme is definitely among my favorites. I also love the WKRP in Cincinnati, Sabrina the Teenage Witch (all themes), Alice (mostly the first and last version), Taxi, and Cheers theme songs. DeadlyToolTime 11-24-2018, 06:11 PM The big band version of the 3rd Rock from the Sun theme song, which was performed by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Sadly, they only used it for season 5 only, which sucks because the band did really good with the theme song and the incidental music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7eYwexXe24 mcphert1 11-27-2018, 09:38 PM THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN is my favourite theme and show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BICE9leH0gM ThisLittlePiggy 12-26-2018, 04:57 PM 1. My third is the theme song from, "Lassie" --- specifically, the opening and closing themes that began in the fifth season of "Lassie", by Les Baxter. It's simply titled, "Lassie Main & End Title". The whistling you hear in the theme song was by Muzzy Marcellino. No other TV theme song brings tears to my eyes and touches my heart like this one! danderson400 03-02-2019, 12:27 PM "Another World Theme" by Charles Paul, a sweeping, beautiful composition with lush instrumentation and sweeping melody featuring the organ, and a full orchestra and celeste solo during the mid-section. The China Beach theme, "Reflections" too. OH Nuts! 03-02-2019, 01:49 PM Do instrumentals count? If they do, the S1-2 openings for WINGS. Steve_uk 03-02-2019, 03:34 PM This would have to be the theme from Owen, M.D in 1972. https://youtu.be/T_NHIP-yLJ0 ..closely followed by the 1981 series on former British Prime Minister David Lloyd George. https://youtu.be/R-0UhCjwUeg dee2364 03-03-2019, 12:37 AM My favorites: 1. And the late Mel Brandt saying "The Doctors, (The Emmy-award winning program) dedicated to the brotherhood of healing." Another World- either the original organ theme played by Clarke Morgan or the "Cause when I'm with you, you take me away to Another World" theme, performed by Gary Morris and Crystal Gayle. With TV theme songs we only hear a condenced version of the song, because some of them were from full length studio recordings. I wonder if there is a ranking of the most successfull TV theme songs based on their performance on the Billboard hot 100 or Cashbox? The theme song from "Lavern and Shirley" was sung by Cyndi Grecco and made it up to number 25 and was on the charts for 16 weeks. Iam pretty sure that not every TV theme song was released as a single or from an album. But if you take the ones that were the "Lavern and Shirley" theme song could be near the top. Now Iam talking about original songs that were recorded around the time that the TV séries began. Yes, alot of TV shows used classic songs for their theme music, but it's those original songs that interest me the most. The theme song from "The Golden Girls" was like this. That song was also in the top 40 for a while. kentrout0 10-03-2020, 06:45 AM WKRP in Cincinnati! kentrout0 10-04-2020, 03:56 PM Someone should tally all theses up.
