***Absolutely no politics***

Hm, how sad. We hadn't even reached 1000 posts on the other one.

WTF? This whole "no politics" thing sucks. Its a part of life... why shouldnt people be able to talk about it?

(yeah, and I know everyones just gonna say "it'll start fights blah blah")

Yeah, it's difficult not to talk about it so near the elections. But TJ's the boss.

you can talk about politics at my message boards, but they are really exclusive, PM me for a link, as long as you arent a dumbass like the one that got the last thread shut down, you will most likely get it.

barwars

It's a shame that had to happen, especially considering all was going well until that dumbass showed up.

There's a big difference between friends arguing than a random person just showing up fighting for a certain side.

And Chambers.... glad to see the "Bored People's Post" counter is still going strong.

Anyone do anything for halloween?

I was supposed to go trick or treating, but my plans fell through. So I spent an exciting night at home.

what did I do for Halloween?
I sawMadame Guignol's Macabre Theatre (http://www.hungerartists.net/mg04.htm) . Twice. Cause my sister was in it.
and then I had to strike the set, since my sister wouldn't drive me home unless I helped them.
Oh yeah, and that costume party last night. That was fun. There were Jello Shots (so much for my vow of alcohol abstinence) and a bounce house! You know, one of those huge inflatable houses at like...pumpkin patches and used car lots that all the little kiddies jump around in...

I've got pictures of me, after about Jello Shot #4 with my pirate hat on, falling onto my sister (we were supposed to be posing together). Expect to be deluged with them any day now.

Tomorrow (Day of the Dead, aka, My birthday, aka Where's My ****ing Present) I get to get up at 7, spend 5 hours on a bus back to Vegas.

Woo.

I honestly have no idea who it could be.

The only two posts made under that name were on the last bored thread.

Yup, I think it was something like 6 feet.
But what makes it bad is that the stupid weathermen have no idea about it coming until the middle of the night, and then bam.... snowwed in.

Although, snow days are a thing of beauty.

My town is absolutely nothing. We hang onto the fact that George Washington built a house here 300 years ago. BIG DEAL.

Hehe, I wouldn't know. The only things that get wished here are:

1) Hurricane days

2) The school losing power or burning down in the middle of the night

3) Thunder storms

Hey FSU! (yes i'm bringing up a topic three pages old...what are you gonna do about it?)

My father used to teach there...for a number of years, in fact.
Do they still have the "Seminole" ride in in full "war" garb for each football game, or did they decide that, not only was that not politically correct, but that it was also pretty stupid too?

Anyway, congrats, Maria!

The tourism area of Seattle is kind of hippie-ish, the Pike Place Market is one of the most popular destinations.

As far as everyday life in Seattle, there are some really nice damn restaurants, my Dad's friend that we always stay with is a lawyer who lives in a condo on Yesler Avenue (or drive or whatever) and it is right on Lake...Washington? there are like 3 lakes there. He said that the bar he goes too is alot like Cheers (after explaining to us how he got held up there trying to negotiate between two of his friends who were fighting because one ripped the other off)

It's alot of different things...oh, but EMP does ****ing rock, and that totally embraces grunge.

My first sculpture:

(If I had a picture of the sides you'd see it's actually quite skinny - that was intentional).

It's called...um..."nostalgia." Yeah, couldn't come up with anything better. But that's the emotion I was interpreting.

It looks better in real life, when you can actually walk around it.

Why is it that you have to name art?

Well, War of the Roses has nothing to do with the actual War of the Roses. But it's funny as hell.

Chambers or Clarisse (I guess i'll just call you that although I suspect it takes the same degree of effort to type both) it's one of my favorite movies, Kathleen Turner is one of my favorite actresses. I'm very excited because I might get to go see her on broadway this spring break as a graduation gift. I took them last year for the first time because I was in this special program for kids who do well on the standardized testing. I got a 980, and my sister (who was a junior in high school at the time) got a 960. She took them again in October and got a 940. So, yeah.

I'm planning on taking them again and seeing if I can break 1000.

haha Argetineans are known for their inflated egos, but that bubble was kind of burst a couple of years ago with their economy dropping so much. Now they are just as bad (economically and socially) as a lot of the other S. American (and I also mean central America as well as the Caribbean) as far as their 3rd world country type situation. The only spanish country in America that's not that bad off is Costa Rica.

Very true. Brazil still has a long way to go to reduce inequalities. But Argentina and Uruguay are still much more socially developed than the rest (comparable to Costa Rica, I think). They have pretty equitable societies. They just need to get over the economic collapse.

haha that'll do it.
Uruguay and Argentina are pulling through, though. Slowly but surely. My parents are in Uruguay right now and you can physically see an improvement. Argentina is doing far better in recovering, but Uruguay will get there. They have a good social infrastructure - good education and everything. I'm much more worried about Brazil's poverty.

Hey now, I have an aunt that does alterations for a living. :p I've had her alter a bunch of my clothes. Once, I got this red fleece jacket and the stupidfaces that made my jacket had the nerve to make one sleeve longer than the other! I couldn't wear it because of that, so she altered it for me and it fits like a dream now. :D

But the work they did was very minor, and they charged me far too much. Seriously, it was way too expensive if you compare it to how much I paid for the actual clothes. Had they done a good job, I wouldn't be so pissed off. But I'm probably going to have to redo it.

Wings is a great show, probably one of the most underrated shows out there :)

Yeah the ones with Cheers cast members are good, but like barwars said the one with Frasier and Lilith is great. The one with Cliff and Norm is great too :)

Tim I really don't see her as a "bitch" she was a good actress and the show, I believe, would have gone under without the Rebecca character in season's 6 through11. So she practices scientology and doesn't support psychology, you really can't blame the woman for having her own standards that she believes and is loyal to.

A year ago, she still had hope.... but now that Frasier's over, nothing can bring her back from being a bitch.

Aside for the scientology thing.... Kirstie has also claimed something along the lines of "I refuse to return to playing a character that I've already done before".... yet she's done 3 "Look Who's Talking" movies.

I love how they do parodies on either movies or musicals! I think it's great, a lot of social commentary and sarcasm. I found it to be more stimulating than the simpsons, because the jokes are smarter and they really bring up important points with their social criticisms.

I still say The Simpsons is the best :p. It gave birth to all these animated sitcoms by using several levels of humor (which can really only be achieved through animation) to convey subtle social criticisms. Maybe I haven't seen enough episodes of Family Guy to form an appropriate judgment, but it's difficult to sit down and watch when the theme song, the dog and that baby annoy me to death.

The Critic IS great. My uncle who works at Sony got me the DVD for free. I also got Dilbert.... which blows.

The Simpsons is best, then Family Guy, then Futurama, then South Park. And finally The Critic.

To tell you the truth, I haven't fallen in love with any of the characters yet, but I still think it's a pretty funny show and will continute to watch it to make sure I'm really not missing something huge. I'm also not a fan of excessive referencing (which South Park also does). It feels contrived and forced at times. Just my opinion.

So far I like him the best, followed by the mother. The other two kids are just there.

One of the things that first bothered me about having a talking dog and baby was that it seemed like a very superficial way of breaking away from The Simpsons pattern, since the families are basically the same in almost every other way. I guess it's all part of the quasi-surrealist, zany humor...which is great except that sometimes it feels too random to have an actual purpose. But I'm watching another episode tonight to see if I'm way off base.
