Be very careful with your words. "Superior as a human being in pretty much every way" doesn't sounds like "abilities and behavior." Whatever you meant, you have to watch your language.
Even if people have been offended by CliffClavin in the past, let's not ruthlessly gang up on him. He deserves a minimal amount of respect, too.

I am sorry if they were hurtful or mean.

CliffClavin 12-02-2004, 05:44 PM Yeah its a little scary. Sometimes we eerily act like our favorite character & that is scary or its just me ? I don't know.

Moondance 12-03-2004, 06:57 PM I have to be at work at 6:30p because the church is having a dress rehearsal tonight...who knows how long I'll be there. The drama part of the show doesn't even know all their lines cause they never rehearsed...Wednesday was the first run-through....holy cow! I'd be going nuts about now, but then of course, I would have taken the time to memorize my lines....LOL!
Anyways, the production should be fun to watch!
I was upstairs in the teen room of the church and they have the same suede couches like FRASIER had! They are so comfy...I wanna live up there in that room!
 to all!

Go see A Very Long Engagement or one of the many other movies that I really want to see but cant because I dont live in a "select city"
You have to realize, the #1 reason I'm jealous of your living in NYC is because of your movie options...and look at how you use it...look!
Well, unless you want to take the kids to it, but with The Incredibles, Spongebob, and The Polar Express out, why would you?

To be honest, my oldest wants to see either The Kranks or The Incredibles. I already saw The Spongebob movie, so I was thinking of something that wasn't animated. I don't have a problem with Snicket, as I enjoyed other dark childrens movies like for example Tim Burton fair. My daughter just doesn't have interest in it. Maybe if a couple of her friends go and see it and like it, she might have the urge to go see it.

Oh yeah, and the Masterpiece Theatre version of "Much Ado About Nothing." That was my favorite. I wanted to BE Beatrice.

But really, Baby Jane (http://my.execpc.com/~reva/babyjfotos.htm) was my favorite movie in second grade.
Brian Damage 12-04-2004, 03:06 PM For me, I was always obsessed with noir films. I even took a course on the subject in college.
barwars 12-04-2004, 03:49 PM My brother works at the movie theater, I go for free all the time.
The Incredibles -- good.
Polar Express -- overrated.
Christmas With The Kranks -- If you like happily-ever-after-everybody-has-a-perfect-Christmas movies.... be sure to show up about 45 minutes late, otherwise, :thumbsdow
Snicket -- The worst of the bunch, and I'm a fan of Jim Carey.
I haven't seen Surviving Christmas, but from what I've heard, STAY AWAY.
But the next movie I'm really looking forward to is Meet The Fockers.

You think that's why?
But it's not always just brother/sister. Mother/son and father/daughter (especially among the Gods) is also common.
The Judeo-Christian creation myth has it's own brand of incest. Adam and Lilith were originally twins, joined at the back, before being split into two. Then, later in the kaballah, she becomes consort to God, bringing in the father/daughter thing.
There's gotta be a reason other than "crazy ancients thought it was sexy."

Well maybe incest was common when populations were smaller. Say, if the only other person you could do outside your family was butt ugly, why not go for your sibling or parent?

except that the "incest taboo" has been found by anthropologists to be universal amongst every culture of humanity, and, to some extent, evolutionarily dealt with amongst animals.
While the taboo is obviously culturally proscribed, your theory is nearly impossible to hypothesize, as the "incest taboo" is one of the only things that links all human cultures.
ThirteenInchEscape 12-06-2004, 12:57 PM I read in history that the natives Americans didnt think twice about such things, part of the reason why the Europeans viewed them as being completely barbaric.

Actually, one of the first things you learn in Anthropology 101 is that the incest taboo is one of the only universal cultural traits among all humans. The problem is, there are varying ideas as to what "incest" is.

Yes, it's a public account, but since at least August, I've been getting all sorts of messages, some going past the border of disgusting. Yes, I do feel my privacy is violated, and I'd really hate to have to stop writing public entries just because some f*ckoff has a thing for me.
Anyway, I'd just like to thank all of you (barwars, slackermonkey, 13) for coming on my journal and defending me. Some of your comments were pretty hilarious.

Cliff, will you stop wasting board space with this crap? If you don't stop spamming my journal, I'm contacting the Internet Service Provider. If (and this is a very big if) it's someone who happens to know everything I posts on Sitcoms Online even though I don't even mention it in my journal, who refers to your post and talks EXACTLY like you, but isn't you, you wouldn't have anything to worry about, right? It wouldn't be your ISP.
CliffClavin 12-06-2004, 05:14 PM I come here just about everyday right. How about I do not come to sitcomsonline.com or my computer for the rest of week & if its really me ? OK ?

Listen. I'm contacting the Internet Service Provider. If it's not you, then it's not your Internet Service Provider, and you have nothing to worry about. I'm not bargaining on this, Cliff. My my privacy has been violated and I've been harrassed for months.

Chambers 12-06-2004, 08:18 PM Yeah, Marcy. We're going to ban you.
I pulled out a couple of weird PMs I received from Cliffie over the summer.
Exhibit A
Hmmmm.....You're here huh!
How are you doing today ?
How did you sleep last night?
I had a sexual dream last night that was scary
Seeya,

Exhibit B
A since of humor like Carla with the body of Rebecca

I like you the best
Really , I do.
Chambers 12-07-2004, 07:59 PM Well let's just hope that his behavior improves. Drastically.

No more snow!
Frasierfan1983 12-07-2004, 08:34 PM Moondance,

I'd love to have some snow here. It usually reaches us in January and February - December if we're lucky. Well, I would call it lucky.:D
Chambers 12-07-2004, 08:50 PM I believe exhibit B was about a post he made about Woody Harrelson's movie career, except he titled it "Woody Harrelson is DEAD" or something like that.

CliffClavin 12-14-2004, 10:37 AM Oh no ! :( Who?
Brian Damage 12-14-2004, 11:02 AM Let's just say a few.
Petrie Malone 12-14-2004, 05:53 PM I hope they come back. Cheers message board isn't the same without them here.
Pirate Jenny 12-14-2004, 07:00 PM Hey.
C'est moi, of course. I thought yesterday of PMing Brian, after his post on Chit Chat, but then I decided I'd just make a public post here for those left.
I no longer feel that Sitcoms Online is a safe place. Much has been going on in my life, lately, both online and off, and I no longer feel comfortable posting on this domain. This is not just a result of what happened on Chit Chat, or anything else that has happened here, or other places. I simply no longer find Sitcoms Online and the philosophies that run it right for me.
I'm terribly sorry that the "Cheers" board has to suffer for this, perhaps more than any other board on SO, because so many of the defectors were native to this board. Brian, I especially want you to know that I have nothing against you. I agree with most of your "Cheers" related opinions, and respected those not "Cheers" related. I do feel a twinge of abandonment (I believe I'm not the only one to feel this, Chambers and I are both sorry to leave you here, like this) as this board has turned into a bit of a ghost board since the exodus. Again, I'm very sorry this had to happen, and I wish you well.
Happy holidays to you and yours.
Feel free to email me at piratejenny@gmail.com
barwars 12-14-2004, 09:35 PM Wow, good-bye to SitcomsOnline. I never thought the day would come. It's been fun. Nearly three years, and I've been here daily for about the past two. I've made lots of friends, and met some people that just plain scared me. All in all, it's been a great time. I too, have decided to leave the boards. But in the tradition of Cheers, some characters must move on for the story to move forward. You'll either forget me entirely, or crack jokes for the next six years until I return.
With the majority of my SO friends gone, I have chosen to follow suit. Now, I know, "if all your friends jumped off a bridge, would you?" I figure, why not?; all your friends are dead.
Another major factor attributing to this is that I have to start looking toward college, and the time I save from SO is more than enough to concentrate on getting into a good school.
I have no ill feelings towards any of you on this board (well, most of you). Brian, you've been a great moderator and friend. I wish you all the best. Maria, Lauren, and all the others from the "old crowd", that online summer of 2003 was great. Soon after, a majority of that crowd died off. Then in the spring of 2004 we saw a new crowd join. Feen (she's still here), Clarisse, Marcy and Brad, who have all since left, were not a replacement for the original crowd, but they were a lot of fun. I think of them as the Rebecca years, although ironically, none of them liked Rebecca.
And, to keep the farewell all in one post, I wish the best to the crowd at the TVDVD forum and to a small minority from ChitChat.
I guess this means I'll be stepping down from my moderating job, and, being Catholic -- I'll take a page from the pope....
Brian, I'd be honored if you would moderate the Joey board, in my place.
As for the Frasier board, I think Frasierfan1983 would be fitting.
Feen (Moondance), I think it's time you take over the Fan Fiction board.
And as for The Desperate Housewives board, I have no doubt JT would love to able to it.
Have no fear, I will be joining you all on Beacon St. on May 20, 2013. First round on me, along with one for the road.
Not to be corny, but I will -- this really has been a place where everybody knows my name, even if they thought it was "barwars." And for the most part, I've always been glad to drop by. It's hard to say goodbye, but I must....
Have a good life.
slackermonkey 12-14-2004, 09:48 PM Wow, this place really is not going to be the same without some of you people. And I do mean that.

I know... it's going to be so weird around here.
And thus we enter the "Rebecca Years" of the Cheers SO Forum

This has happened before (well, with different people). The Cheers board will bounce back eventually...
It sucks that you're leaving, Tim. Everyone from that old crowd is gone now except for me (I'll never leave completely) and Brian. It would be funny if everyone came back like a day later they posted their big farewell speeches, like the last time this happened. I found that amusing.
Well, bye to everyone whos decided to leave. And I still have absolutely no clue why everyone got all pissed in the first place.
Petrie Malone 12-14-2004, 11:06 PM Maybe this will sound corny, but I think we should close this thread in honor of the people who left. Sort of "remember them as they were." We could start a new bored thread with the remaining people.
Brian Damage 12-14-2004, 11:16 PM I am saddened by the loss of barwars, Chambers and Pirate Jenny. You guys really made this board tick for the years that you've been here. I promised you guys(barwars and Chambers) copies of The Tortelli's spinoff and you will get them as promised, reguardless of your standing here at SO. I was just so busy and lazy to get around to it. Hopefully once you recieve the tape you guys can make a cameo appearance and discuss the show. Anyway farewell and adieu. This thread will be closed to preserve your memories. Sounds a bit sappy, but I agree with Petrie.
