Actually, being a professor's daughter has a lot of perks for an narcissistic demon bitch like me. For instance, after my dad finishes up one of his classes, if I happen to be on campus and not doing anything, I get to prance up to the podium and be all cute and daugter-y to my dad, and then all the Law Students are like...ok, I don't know what they're like, but dammit, I love the attention.
And then, because my dad uses examples in his class and will often start with "Now if I had a daughter who was a heroin addict, killed my wife and had lots of criminal boyfriends, and I was to set up a trust fund..." I always get the "Oh, so you're THE daughter" witty remarks, to which I give one of two responses...
a. Do I look like that daughter? or;
b. No, that's my sister.
And also it means that the entire Law Faculty knows me and is fair target if I'm broke and need to borrow money.

OH! Let me tell you about my politics class. It's going to be the coolest class ever. It'll take up a bunch of my time, but everybody says it's so much fun. It's a simulation class called "Causes and Prevention of War" and you make up the government of one of 12 countries and you get to like you know do politics stuff. Apart from the 30-page paper, it looks like fun fun fun!

for French apparently the audio cd goes with the textbook not the workbook, so when the workbook says you need audio you are supposed to go to the foreign language website, except quicktime wont connect to it for some reason.

now I will have to go to the language lab in the morning

or if Lindsey ever gets online (I got her AIM today, but she hasnt been online except for logging on and logging off instantly, I assume her roommate logged on as her on accident or something) I can ask her if it worked for her and just get her answers, or go to the language lab with her if she hasnt done it yet.

I tried to grill chicken just now, and I ended up burning the plastic handle of my spatula. Not a good idea. The chicken is ok...not great...but not worth all the mess I made.

I was going to steam vegetables too, but after that I decided to eat them raw.

It was metal actually - but the handle was plastic . All of my mother's cooking utensils have melted sections too. I think it runs in the family.

When I was a freshman in high school, I had an Opera Workshop where we did that all the time. This one girl could give, like, the worlds BEST massages...with her feet.

It does suck that we start on a friday though, its sort of a waste.

This weekend I may actually go to my first "frat-like" party. My friend is taking me. If it's lame (which it probably will be due to all the MIT geeks who'll probably be there), I'll leave early.

It's a "frat-TYPE" party. My friend goes to a women's college, so they make a big deal when guy visit their campus. So it's LIKE a frat party because, well, I don't know. I've never been to one.

Well, it depends on when you graduate high school. I'll graduate from Suny Canton in '06. And then I'd be starting SU in the fall of '06. So we might be Freshman together.

My English teacher actually reminded me of Lilith. She wore the suit-type thing, with a yellow scraf (no red, :( ), was very pale, and very straight-forward, cold-hearted, and strict. And she looked like Bebe Neuwirth too, although a little older. If it weren't for her hair (which looks more like Bebe Glazer's than Lilith's), they wouldve been identical.

Yesterday was the night I was supposed to go to that college party. So I stood in line for 10 minutes or so, and I already hated all the people there. They were all stupid, drunk MIT guys. Then I got to the front of the line and realized I had to pay 10 dollars (and I didn't want to pay, plus I didn't have the money with me). So my friend and I got out of there. I think God just doesn't want me to go to a real party - ever.

The only "plus" of MadTV is their skits about TVShows.... but even then its bad. I dont like any of the guys on it, and the only girl I like is the black lady (sorry, dont know her name)

they've had a few great skits like "Bowling for Christmas" and "The Powerslut Girls" but other than that it is generally terrible.

I wasn't allowed to watch The X-Files until I was 12. I think that's why I like it too much. Nothing is more satisying than fulfilling an illicit pleasure.

Yeah I'll admit some of there scenes do flop,but when they do have a really good one it is really good. Yeah but the new season of mad tv is gunna suck so I'd rather watch snl. But back in it's prime Mad Tv was a great show.

I know. I like it a LOT more than the story, even though the story's my favorite Short Story, hand's down.
Bebe is great, and creepy, the music...I don't know, sometimes it really jives with the story, and sometimes it seems a little too "Look at Us! We're in a Radio Play!"
which may be the point, but that and the sound effects sometimes get a little overly cliche.

What really makes me happy is that, ok, this story is f*cked up. The author is. We can assume that anyone who likes this story is f*cked up. And anyone who would agree to DO this story, well, likewise.

And that makes me happy.

My first "real" day of school went pretty smoothly.
My English teacher is not like Lilith at all.... which, in this case, works out.
We were supposed to bring in a "classic novel" to read, which I forgot.... so I quickly went to the room next door and stole a random book from the teacher (whom I know personally, so it works).... thank god "Treasure Planet" is on our reading lists.... or I wouldve gotten a 0 on the first day.

Other than that.... Web Page Design and Art3D are two of the best classes I've ever taken, and Chemistry :rolleyes: At least my lab partner is somebody I like.

You are an excellent writer. I don't just admire your way with words, but how you actually think about what you're writing and how it will affect the reader (at least I got that impression that you do that). So many people our age are good with words but only write dramatic, self-absorbed pieces - you know, the way some girls like taking pictures of their feet and call it "art." These individuals are under the misconception that if you write about something serious, then it is automatically good. It was refreshing to read a story that dealt with something serious yet had a mature backbone to support its weight. You didn't let the subject matter take over - you manipulated it perfectly. One of my poems actually won a contest and got published in this book for young adults, but the publisher neglected to tell me that the book had a decidedly Christian/ "Jesus Will Save You" slant, and also neglected to pay me.
I ended up having to buy the book myself at a local Borders, and have never come so close to holding an actual ritual bookburning before in my life.
Mom wouldn't let me, and I believe it may still be buried under the piles of crap on her dresser.

Anyway, it was also funny because the author mentioned how the boards would go crazy whenever Mulder glanced at Scully, or whenever Scully's hand brushed against Mulder's arm. If you know the series, then you know what I'm talkin about.

I have never watched the X-Files - my friend from high school loved it, but I never was interested.

Apart from the FBI connection, there's the fact that Scully looked just like Clarice in the first season - same haircut and clothes. Also, the style and feel of the show (the sets, the atmosphere, the way it's shot - everything) is heavily influenced by Silence of the Lambs. There were even a few episodes that had Scully in the same position as Clarice - you know, a subtle almost erotic connection to some Hanibalesque guy behind bars.

okay i'm back and life is calm again :) i finally finished my fanfic "Barwars VIII: The War Within" (yes i know it's been awhile but at least it's done!). Hopefully it'll all be up soon. I revised some parts and just have to edit and type the final chapters. Idk if it's any good but we'll see!
