LECLAIRE - THE OLD SCHOOL HOUSE BRIDGE - BUS FULL OF KIDS FROM THE SCHOOL DOWN THE ROAD WERE KILLED ON THIS BRIDGE YEARS AGO. THEY DONT LIKE PEOPLE ON THERE BRIDGE. THEY WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET YOU OFF BECAUSE THEY DONT WANT YOU TO DIE TOO. GO AND STOP ON THE BRIDGE AND THEY WILL PUSH YOU OFF. TAKE A DARK CAR AND PUT POWDER ON THE CAR AND YOU WILL SEE HAND PRINTS. THERE IS A SWING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AT THE DEAD OF NIGHT YOU WILL SEE IT MOVING, NO WIND OR ANYTHING. IT ONLY WORK GOING ONE WAY SO YOU WILL HAVE TO FIND OUT WHAT WAY IT IS!!!

Tunnels!

Worms - Taukkunen Barracks - Taukkunen Barracks was a U.S. Army installation during the Cold War. Today it is privately owned. It is located on Mainzer Strasse. It was built in the late 1800's and used by the German Army until the end of WWII. It is known to have a network of underground tunnels and bunkers, but this has been sealed off. It is apparently haunted by the ghosts of WWII German soldiers. these ghosts do not understand English but they do understand German. They like to party at night and make a lot of noise.

I got such a kick out of seeing pictures of the teachers that graduated in the 60's. THEIR HAIR!!!! Their clothes!!!!! OMG! I love the picture of this one teacher directly to the left of "Graduate of the 1960's" sign. HER HAIR ROCKS.

 It just started happening last year, too. Before that, she worked as a librarian at the middle school I went to. She had to retire about two years ago, even tho she's not retirement age yet.

Everybody I've talked to about the principal's wife have all said it's really sad. She's not even 60 yet and already looks 85 and walks like a 85 year old. :( I'm glad I haven't seen her...it would be too horrible. I'd just like to remember her as the nice school librarian and not as a lady w/ Alzheimer's.

Oh that's awful. I've seen what Alzheimer's does to a person and it makes me sad that I couldn't just remember them as they were before it took over. :(

He's now finishing up his sixth year teaching, and I hear he's STILL just as crappy as ever at teaching. He shouldn't be teaching. ohno: I didn't learn ONE thing in his class that year.

I do miss my 10th grade biology/11th grade ABC (applied biology/chemistry) teacher. I had the same one both years- I liked her so much in 10th grade, I came back again to have her in 11th grade. Unfortunately, she only taught @ the high school for two years, both years that I had her, so I'm glad I had her when I did. She was an amazing teacher that left the teaching field for good. :(

If they don't want to be there in the first place, they should go look for another job. I mean, you don't make squat (compared to a LOT of other jobs) in that profession. It's one of the most important out there and I wish they'd realize how much influence they have over us when we're young. Sorry, had to rant about that after reading your first paragraph.

My high school science teacher basically told us that he didn't give a flip if we passed or failed. Had another teacher who, for the most part, was never there to teach us. She'd come in during the last 10 minutes of class with a long story about how she had to take her son to daycare, etc. Which is fine and we felt bad for her - at first. But damn, you can't just come in late like that every day. Not only that, due to all of that stress she'd wind up yelling at the top of her lungs. She was fired eventually.

She'd just emailed me the day before to tell me that the guy she was dating had proposed to her and she'd said YES! so I went in to congratulate her the next day, after school. :) It was only going to be a 2-minute kinda thing, but we ended up visiting for 1/2 hour, and as I was leaving, she walked up to me and gave me the BIGGEST and longest hug. :biglove: She gave me a total of 3 hugs that day...I remember that well... My sis had her first, though. A little funny thing I remember. When my sis graduated four years ago, she gave my sis $10. But when I graduated last year, she gave me $20. Hmm, ya think she favors me more? :biglove:

That is so sweet! *heart melts* :biglove: I'd say she favors you! I mean, giving you 20 and your sis 10? But then, it looks like the two of you had a stronger bond and a closer relationship. :)

The one hug I remember more than any other was on the last day of school, the summer before we all entered junior high. I was talking with my friends while waiting for the buses to leave, and she called out my name. Soon as I got up to her, she wrapped her arms around me and whispered in my ear, "Out of all my students, I'll miss you most. Be good to yourself and good luck." :)

YIKES! I never had any teachers like that (thankfully). They woulda all been fired immediately! That's SO against the rules. How long did it get for her to get fired?

Thanks, it just really ticked me off reading about him. I'm sorry you had such a crappy teacher. Now that's about as scary and infuriating as you can get. They cannot be that stupid or blind. Sheesh, I hope they can his ass.

See? You'd think so, right? But noooo, they let it go on until the school year was about to wrap up, then they finally dragged their butts upstairs after other students/teachers wouldn't stop complaining. Perfect timing, too.. since she was in the middle of one of her tirades. ohno:

NEVER. Not even once. She always came to school 15 minutes late every day. She went on to tell me that her tardiness has added up to 45 HOURS for the whole year. Another teacher has only taught for 20 DAYS the WHOLE YEAR, because she got into doing a meth lab with a dorm counselor from school. I was VERY shocked & appalled. Two very influential people, who had told us millions of times to always be on time and not do drugs, turning on their word. ohno:

Awww...Yep, I know what you mean. ;)

If you want to be a teacher, go for it. What's stopping you? ;)

You've gotta be kidding me. For them to harp on all of you over and over and then to and do the very thing they said you shouldn't do.. that wouldn't fly in my book.

She said I had the amazing ability to touch people's lives with just a few 'simple' words (there was more, yet that's what I'll always remember). It's not so much to brag, but it just goes to show that you really can make a difference - when you least expect it. :)

I woulda gone to Paris too, but that didn't happen. My stepmom was telling me horror stories about it when we were in London...Is it really THAT bad? :( People seemed sad in Europe; a lot of sad looking faces; London seemed the same, but where were their people? Hell, an Indian/Hidu over population.which tripled the last time I was there...
