The Oblongs aired from April until May 2001 on the WB.
The WB promoted the Oblongs as " an unusual nuclear family where physical challenges may have more to do with society's ills than we want to admit." They certainly looked the part. Cheerful family head Bob Oblong ( voiced by Will Ferrell), who worked at Globocide on the production line in the Pesticides , Defoliant & Infant Formula Division , had no arms or legs ( he hopped). Bald wife Pickles ( Jean Smart) was a heavy drinker who wore outrageous wigs. Their kids were Biff and Chip ( Randy Sklar, Jason Sklar), Siamese twin sons joined at the hip, hyperactive young Milo ( Pamela Segall Adlon), and four-year old Beth ( Jeannie Elias), who had a stalk growing out of her head. Even their cat smoked. The rich people , like the socially prominent Klimers ( Becky Thyre, Billy West), lived in the hills, while those that lived in the valley, like the Oblongs, had suffered the effects of toxic waste. Milo's friends , and fellow social outcasts were fat Helga ( Lea DeLaria), tall, toothy Peggy ( Becky Thyre), French Susie ( Jeannie Elias) and redheaded Mikey ( Jeannie Elias).
