The "Family Matters" house - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Has anyone ever seen the house used in the exterior shots on the show, in person?

You can easily tell by the ending credits that it's in Chicago, (not surprisingly since that's where the sitcom storyline took place.)

I'll be going to Chicago for a week in May and if I have some extra time, I'm going to try to look for the house and take a couple pictures.

Has anyone else seen the house in person?

That's funny, I live in Chicago and never thought to look for it! I gonna have to try to check out the opening of the show so I'll know what side of town it's on.

It *seems* to be NW of the city, because in the opening credits with the theme song(and closing credits with the theme), you can see a shot coming from the house back out and in the background you can see the Skyscrapers of Chicago. It's defintely west of the city.
