How did Al, Phil, Paul and the "other" barflys Make a Living?? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

They couldnt of gotten THAT much money for sitting there and giving *maybe* a one-liner per episode.

Yet they were there almost every episode.

They must have either gotten paid good money.... or REALLY loved sitting at 3/4 of a bar.

I don't know if they ever mentioned anything for Phil and Al, but I'm pretty sure they did at one point mention Paul's occupation. I forget what it was though.

He "used" to be an athletic trainer.
they mentioned it in the episode where Frasier wanted to get in shape.

But what I was really asking was.... how did they make any money, by saying one-liners??

Oh, I see what you're saying. Believe it or not they can make good money. My friend is an actor who does alot of stand in and background work and he makes a decent living for himself. And that's without even having a speaking role.

Paul was a TOLLBooth attendant. Remember in that episode where they his date or the "chub chaser" kept refusing Sam and at one point Sam says "Women are attracted to power, hey listen up, does anybody know what paul does for a living?" and Norm answers "I believe he's a tollbooth attendant. "

I belive they made an alright living I have a friend who does it and she gets a lot of cash from it, but she also has another job.~
