Here in Syracuse, NY we have a local news channel called NEWS-10-NOW, which airs news 24/7.
Last night, at around 10:45, I was flipping through the channels and came across News-10-Now which was doing a little feature on YOUR website. I only caught the end of it, where they were showing off the Picture Gallerys of the message boards. I thought it was very cool. My Dad (who watches it all the time) said that they talked to somebody. Any idea who that may be? |

news10now.com 8 50 am Celebrating the sitcom 2/13/2004 4:21 PM By: Noah Robischon, Entertainment Weekly That staple of prime time television, the sitcom, turned 55 years old this month. And even if you believe that situation comedy peaked with I Love Lucy, the Sitcoms Online website, at sitcomsonline.com, is a television companion worth watching. The graphic design doesn't get high ratings, but the site has information about every TV comedy imaginable. The main page has the latest sitcom news about the final episode of Friends, along with Nielsen ratings and links to other top television websites including TV Barn, Jump The Shark and The Futon Critic. WATCH THE VIDEO On the Net The sitcom turned 55 years old this week. But the greenest acres on the site are on the left hand navigation bar. The Show Sites link leads to shrines devoted to such classic programs as Family Ties and Diff¹rent Strokes. Each of these micro-sites has an episodes guide, photo gallery, and a library with audio and video files of the show's theme song. There is also a biography section with “where are they now” updates, and even a directory with mailing and some email addresses for cast members. If your favorite series doesn't merit a special show site, go back to the main page and look inside the alphabetical listings. This encyclopedic directory includes such obscure shows as the 1978 science fiction series Quark, which was penned by comedian Buck Henry, and The Ugliest Girl In Town, a 1968 show with a Tootsie-esque storyline about a cross-dressing supermodel. Click on the small speaker icon to hear the theme song for The Ugliest Girl In Town, which sounds like a spoof from an Austin Powers movie. Returning to the main page, there's a fairly comprehensive guide to Britcoms, or British Sitcoms, that includes audio clips from Absolutely Fabulous and goes all the way back to 1962's Steptoe and Son. Further down the main navigation bar there's a Guess the Sitcom Guessing Game, in which the website magically guesses whatever series you think of based on the answers to several questions. And finally there's a link to Like Television, a service that lets you download classic TV shows right to your computer. |
