Wink DVDS newbie comes bearing wallpaper

Hi guys!

I'm a DVDS newbie, but am completely hooked on the show right now. Have been lurking on these boards for a while, but since I've watched most of the first two seasons of the show on DVD, I decided I'm finally qualified to post though I haven't seen the other three seasons!!

I adore Rob & Laura; they're just the sweetest couple ever. And Dick van Dyke... I have such a crush on the man. He's too adorable, and such a wonderful actor and comedian! I love this show so much.

Looking forward to chatting with everyone about this wonderful, magical show....

Anyway, I made some wallpaper which I thought you guys might also be interested in. It looks like this:

I'm off to watch more episodes now.

Welcome, Gaityr! It's always nice to have a new fan on board. Season 3 comes out next week and Season 4 is coming out in April so you will be getting your TDVDS education in short order! Enjoy!

Where did you order your season 3 set, B&W Fan? I don't expect mine until next week sometime.

Oh, I won't get mine till next week either. They just said they shipped it today.

I order mine from Deep Discount DVD (they now get almost all my business) and they try to time out their shipments so that they arrive on the day of release. Sometimes I get them a day earlier than the official release date, sometimes a day later. But usually it's real close to the right date.

I will say this. If you pay the extra for expediated shipping from them, you can pretty much guarantee yourself getting the dvds at least 3 or 4 days early. I didn't do this, because it's just a bit too expensive for my tastes, but if someone really can't wait and it's worth it to them to pay extra and get the dvds early, then Deep Discount DVD (aka DDD) is the best place around to do it, IMHO.

B&W "generally, DDD ships new releases out about 1 week ahead of the scheduled release date, so if you order 2nd day delivery you will get it much earlier than the official release date" fan

Hey, B&W Fan, I went over to DDD and ordered my season 3 set from them and canceled my order with Amazon.com. It was $2 cheaper on DDD plus shipping is free. I also pre-ordered season 4 and the Barney Miller Season 1 set. Thanks for letting me know about this. It is a much better deal!

Lolac,

Glad to have been of help to you. I found Deep Discount DVD about 2 years ago and they've been real good to me. For the most part they are as good, or better, in pricing as Amazon.com or the other online stores. Sometimes they beat their competitors by substantial amounts. Just depends.

I also have found, generally, that they are better at getting items to me quicker than Amazon, even when I use the free shipping they offer. For some reason, I've found that Amazon has been shipping late with many of their products recently. For instance, if something is scheduled to come out on a Tuesday (like all the dvd releases), Amazon often doesn't ship until a day or two later. At least that's been my experience.

Take care,

B&W "I'm ready for Season 3" fan

I just got my e-mail that the Season 3 set I ordered from DDD shipped today. I am so excited to get this set! Thanks, again, B&W Fan, for the recommendation. DDD is great!

Thank you B&W fan for the recommendation. I also canceled my pre-order at another site and changed it to DDD. I also got a confirmation today that they were sent.

I had an interesting situation though. When I placed my order, I got a confirmation email that showed I ordered Season 3 only. But when I got my shipping confirmation today, it listed 3 other DVDs that I didn't order for a total more then $35 higher then my original order I was shocked and confused to say the least

I found DDD's 800 number and called them. The customer service rep told me that that sometimes happens when two people place an order at the exact same time. She told me that since the DVDs had already shipped, they couldn't change anything now.

I explained to her that my credit card number pulls money directly from my checking account, and I can't really afford to wait for a refund until they get the DVDs back. I expected her to not be able to do anything about it, but instead she put me on hold and got permission to refund my money now.

Within 5 minutes of hanging up with her, I already got an email confirming the refund. She also said she is sending me a pre-paid postage label to send the extra DVDs back with.

So I really thank you B&W fan for your recommendation. Not only were they cheaper then the other sites, but with customer service like that, they can have all my business. I'm really glad you told us about them. I'll probably get my DVDs early too since I chose the 2-3 day delivery

Christina

Nice story, Christina. It is nice to know that there are companies out there that still care about customer service.
