Default Dorothy Lyman on SoapNet this weekend

I meant to post this earlier in the week, but for those interested, you can catch Dorothy Lyman in her emmy-winning role of Opal Gardner on 2 classic All My Children episodes from 1983 this weekend on SoapNet. The episodes air today at 2 & 3 PM EST, & they re-air tomorrow evening at 7 & 8 PM EST.

Cool! I kind of remember her on that soap! Wasn't her role kind of "Naomi-ish"?

Yeah, her role as "Opal" on AMC is what got her the part of Naomi on Mama's Family, because Carol Burnett was a HUGE All My Children fan and she said Dorothy Lyman's Opal character was very similar to the character of Naomi. Plus she thought Dorothy Lyman was hilarious on AMC.

I despise Soap Operas but I might watch this just because 1) I have this nostalgia thing where I like seeing things from the early 80s and 2) I've never seen Dorothy Lyman in another role besides Naomi.

I loved seeing her in the role yesterday. Dorothy Lyman as Opal was hilariously trashy and I can see why she won two Emmys for the role. It was also great seeing some classic AMC episodes.

BTW, she was only in the second 1983 episode they aired at 3:00PM (#3539, aired 08/30/83), and which will air again at 8:00PM.

From what I remember, she's on during both halves of the episode.

Could you tell me about the character of Peggy Warner from 1980 if anyone knows? Amy Steel played her.
