What episodes scared you as a child?

There were some episodes that kind of freaked me out as a child.Perhaps the scariest one for me would be A Haunted House Is Not A Home,where Fred and Barney spent the night in the haunted mansion of Uncle Giggles.Another one was Two Men On A Dinosaur.I found the character of Big Ed big and scary.The Gruesomes kind of gave me the willies too.Especially that octopus of theirs.Not to mention their vicious egg plant.One other episode I found creepy was Dr.Sinister.Where there any episodes that you found scary as a child?

Not too many episodes really scared me when I was little. The only one that did was when Fred and Barney had to do jury duty and Fred read the verdict that sent a (HUGE) bank robber to jail....known as the "Mangler." Later, the Mangler escapes from jail to get his revenge on Fred, so the Flintstones and Rubble's hide out at Barney's summer cottage. I remember there were some scenes at night where a shadowy figure peaks through the window with the freaky music playing in the background. That always scared me when I was little.

(We don't find out until around the end of the episode that the shadowy figure was actually a private investigator sent to protect Fred. The Mangler eventually tracks the families down but knocks himself out when he accidently trips on Bam-Bam's toy train.)

All of them did, especially Dr.Sinister when Fred and Barney, even after being resuced by her, hiding out back home hear Madame Yes call them out and they're too scared to go through that all over again....I'll also include when I was younger the final car chase of "No Biz like Show Biz" late at night when Fred goes into the tunnel, with some cool weird animation of the ariel view when on that freeway interchange and that tunnel scene, though it turns out to be a dream and it's the only actual "Scary" part.


Parts of the Season 2 episode "Impractical Joker' scared me a bit when Betty sets up Barney's counter-joke on Fred, (and this is why such older radio actors like Bea Benaderet were so great at doing cartoons) and Betty with spasmic-shock animation freaks out and hides behind Wilma's coach while talking to her, asking her, "Was that...was that a Police Siren?", with Hoyt Curtin's early creepy music playing, and later Fred investigating Barney who's playing his "money joke" on Fred, who then freaks out (cue another classic cue-the stinger used also in "No Biz"'s tunnel scene right before Fred wakes up in that later one, then the "masket bandit" guy later in "Impracticsal joker" with some unique cool private-eye jazz music (Fred to Barney, conveniently forgetting WHO started this: (Driving)"It's all your fault Barney!") Of course it ends happily, as a surprise party for Barney....[SPOILER]
The "bandit" is Fred & Barney's longtime mutual buddy Joe Rockhead..

The episode where Fred was snapping his toes at the Golden Smog/Hot Lips Hannigan concert. It still gives me the shudders...brrr!
