Talking Arnold bought a giant powdered donut from a vending machine?

This has been bothering me for quite some time. Remember the episode where Arnold had junk food vending machines at his school? Well, when Mr. D and Aunt Sophia discovered Arnold eating a powdered donut in his room, Arnold explained to them that he got it out of a vending machine at school! Huh? They don't have regular-sized donuts in vending machines! Maybe a pack of little ones, but not full-sized single donuts! And, the thing wasn't even wrapped -- Arnold just pulled the unwrapped donut out of a brown paper bag! You mean to tell me that Arnold bought an unwrapped powdered donut out of a vending machine? Wouldn't it get stale in a matter of hours inside that machine? Also, who would want their unwrapped donut touching the dirty surfaces of the inside of a vending machine? If it *was* wrapped at one point, why would Arnold unwrap it, only to stick it inside a brown paper bag? Its not like he had started to eat it, then put the rest of the donut back in the bag to eat later. The whole donut was clearly there! Mr. Drummond should've had bigger worries than the fact that it was his company who supplied those junk food vending machines to the schools. He *should* have been more concerned with the fact that his vending machines were dispensing unwrapped, full-sized powdered donuts!

You are so funny. I totally agree with you! The doughnut would have ended up getting stale or dirty in the vending machine. The writers of the show must have never thought how funny that looked. I didn't think about it when I watched it the first time but you are right. Thanks for this reminder of the episode. It was great!

All the school was doing was selling donuts. It's not like they were selling CRACK to the kids!

Too funny. Now that you mention it, this has always bothered me as well. Sitcom writers sometimes don't seem to care at all about reality (how about whenever anyone opens a present on TV, they are always able to just pull the lid off the box without tearing the wrapping. Who wraps this way?).

Thanks for the laugh.

I remember my Grandpa & Grandma used to have to get out their pocketknives to open Christmas presents.

The Revelation Knowledge is Coming!
The Revelation Knowledge is Coming!

It makes being a TV preacher worthwhile!

There is a person watching me that mentioned about donuts being sold in schools. Yes and wondering about the reality of it all. Should the donuts be wrapped or left out in the open to be stale. OH I feel the Anoiting. Yes Jesus!!! This is Powerful Knowledge from Above. Tilton HUH control yourself HUH HUH stop jerking man HUH and get to the point Fast:

Our schools today have condoms in machines don't they? So why can't Arnold have "day old moldy school donuts". That reminds me of the school lunches I used to eat. Habba Habba Habba. Put your hand on the screen right now You at home & ponder this point Brothers & Sisters! Sitcom schools & real schools are not much different; they're both CheeseWiz at times.

Goes the anoiting!!! Hai Glory!!!

Here's an example:

At the school I went to when I was little we had this custom where every week we'd have to gargle this stuff called Swish. I guess it was a Dentistry thing. Here's the Cheesy Part:

Later the powers that be decided to change the name to "Flouride Rinse". Seems that there was another product out on the market called Swish which was poisonous? I forget what exactly it was for (Drano?) but anyway that wasn't the half of it. The real weird part was:

Kids would brush their teeth at home! So Swish was Pitched! Out the window if we could get there.

But as much as we waited we never did have Kareem Abdul Jabbar teach our classes. Now that would have been Gorganzola.
