Default Which was D.J. forced to be toughest on?

Michelle wasn't punished at all by Danny before age 3.9, but an angry glare, timeout, & loud lecture if needed would likely scare her. There's Michelle's bad attitude, which the men never said was wrong. There's the time after Disnwyrold, & Michelle also may be tring to blame Jesse, as Danny did after the dinosaur. But, there's also Michelle's disobedience. And, there's Michelle's disobedience, whcih cropped up from time to time through season 6, but by the start of seson 6 the men aren't correcting it. (Michelle refusing to come downstairs for school till Teddy shows, running w/the phone giggling and playing she's Jesse secretary).

I voted for Disneyworld, but I can see the bad attitude winning, too. I think D.J. made Michelle realize she had to obey her so by the time Michelle's 4.5 or 5, she knows disobeying D.J. will make things very tough on her,a nd she'll decide to listen to D.J.. It's the sneakiness I see D.J. having most trouble with. Other comments?

Yeah, D.J. got Michelle in good habits when little, just not s good. Still, a good lecture or two would be enough from D.J.. But the attitude, as I said, I think she finally got the soap. lol, that means she was crazier about cleaning than Danny!

D.J. never raised Michelle, that was Steph. D.J heleped with Steph but cause dj was about 10 years older she never teached Michelle. That was almost Steph who did that (in Silence Is Not Golden for exempel Steph yelled at her when she [Michelle] was angry at Danny for no reason. I guess Steph was more important for a young Michelle than her oldest sister D.J.

That was because Stephanie was MUCH closer to Michelle than DJ was. Steph was five years older than Mich, and DJ was 10 years older than Mich.

I never thought of that; it seems like D.J. would be the one becasue she's so much older, and Michelle might respect her more. She obeys when D.J. says to eat in her room ("Lust in the Dust") and also when MD.J. tells her to rake the leaves (when she's out of control for the men, still she obeys D.J. like a good, well adjusted child.) She also makes Michelle do all the dishes when Michelle tries to sneakily get out of doing her half. ("All Stood Up" I think.)

However, it is possible that was before Steph really got a handle on doing it. Perhaps once they switched rooms it was Steph, with D.J. helping.

I know that children need limits set very early, and someone had to be punishing her around age 2 with timeouts - the 2 i's, as they call them, ignore and isolate. D.J. might find it easier to do that at first till Steph gets a handle on how.

It's not uncommon for a single parent - especially a father - to get too lax and for an older sibling, usually a sister, to end up as the disciplinarian in a case like this. The child in question then becomes so used to that person (in this case all 3) trying to be their friend they can get to blaming them for stuff. (Though she blamed *herself* for the dinosaur, watch it again. You'll see that *Danny* is the one who blamed Jesse, and told her it was "just an accident." Something which probably cemented in her mind that the real authority figure in her life was one of her sisters - and maybe both. Who knows, craving those limits like kids do on the inside, she might have gone and confessed to them, too, since she said Danny should yell at her instead of Jesse, and he didn't.)

I will say this, though. She was *way* better than she would have been if whichever one it was didn't discipline her consistently. I think D.J., some of you think Steph, in the end it was probably a mixture. But, if this were real life, she's in control and courteous and obedient enough by age 8 that somebody would have been disciplining her consistently whenever there was a problem. Even if the guys didn't.

BTW, if you wish to call and mention this and how they should mention Michelle being disciplined by her sisters in the DVDs, and make it more realistic that way, Warner Home Video's customer service number is 818-954-6429. They should include something to explain that and make it mro realistic, though I think like the posters here, fans who really think about it can tell her sisters really did quite a bit of the raising.
