FEBRUARY 10, 1973
"I Was A 99-lb. Weakling", Episode No. 38 of The Monkees (prod. #4757, first aired on NBC October 16, 1967), was repeated @ 1:00 p.m. EST on ABC. FEBRUARY 12, 1968 "The Monkees Race Again" (a.k.a. "Leave The Driving To Us") first aired @ 7:30 p.m. on NBC as the 53rd episode of The Monkees. Kellogg’s™ sponsored this episode, which featured the song “What Am I Doing Hangin’ ’Round”, written by Travis Lewis & Boomer Clarke and produced by Chip Douglas. Trivia Footnote: This episode saw the 18th and final appearance of the Dean Jefferies-styled/George Barris-built Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile in an original Monkees segment. FEBRUARY 12, 1972 “The Royal Flush”, the premiere episode of The Monkees (prod. #4701, first aired on NBC September 12, 1966), was repeated @ noon EST on CBS, with 2 new songs added: "Apples, Peaches, Bananas and Pears," written by Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart and "Good Clean Fun," written by Michael Nesmith. FEBRUARY 13, 1967 (Peter Tork's 25th birthday!) “The Monkees At The Circus” first aired @ 7:30 p.m. on NBC as the 22nd episode of The Monkees. The sponsor of the week was Kellogg’s™, and the songs of the week were “She” written & produced by Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart and “Sometime In The Morning” written by Gerry Goffin & Carole King and produced by Gerry Goffin, Carole King & Jeff Barry. And if you tuned in and turned on this week, you would have seen these original commercials: Kellogg's Corn Flakes, Slicker Lip Polish by Yardley, Eyelighter by Yardley, Kellogg's Pop Tarts, Kellogg's Raisin Bran, and The Monkees for Kellogg's Rice Krispies. Trivia Footnote: This episode marked a return to the big top for Micky Dolenz, once Corky on TV's Circus Boy (NBC/ABC, 1956-58). FEBRUARY 13, 1971 (Peter Tork's 29th birthday!) “The Royal Flush”, the premiere episode of The Monkees (prod. #4701, first aired on NBC September 12, 1966), was repeated @ 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS, with 2 new songs added: "Apples, Peaches, Bananas and Pears," written by Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart and "Good Clean Fun," written by Michael Nesmith. (This episode would be re-aired again on CBS a little over a full year later!) FEBRUARY 14, 1970 "The Devil And Peter Tork", Episode No. 52 of The Monkees (first aired on NBC February 5, 1968), was repeated @ noon EST on CBS, with a new song added: "I Never Thought It Peculiar," written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart. Interesting note: this broadcast occurred on the day after Peter Tork's 28th birthday! |
