are there any sitcoms that are/were based on a movie, where you liked the movie, but didn't like the show, or vice-versa?

I heard somewhere that they're making a Practical Magic series, which is based on the movie (I guess) and the movie was based on the book.

I saw that movie "Popi" recently, on TCM but I never knew it was also a show! When was it on, who was in it, and what network was it on?

The Addams Family on television was likeable; the movies sucked.
Same with The Beverly Hillbillies, The Brady Bunch, McHale's Navy.....the TV shows were corny but I liked them. The movies should never have been made. Sgt. Bilko....I never cared for Phil Silvers and I never saw the movie. |

Dirty Dancing was made into a short-lived series. It was terrible! Didn't last more than a few weeks!

Two more: Ferris Bueller and Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
I remember the Outsiders cause I watched it all the time. Unfortunately, one of the stars, Rodney Harvey has since gone on to be featured in those Partnership For a Drug-Free America psa's since he had a fatal overdose a few years ago. |
