First time I realized Gilligan was a wise guy - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

He and Skipper were chained in Boris Balinkof's castle and Gilligan said that maybe Skipper'd be turned into a big fat whale or a big fat pig. Skipper tried to hit him one with the cap but couldn't due to the chains. Gilligan just looked forward and smiled like a wise guy.

Gilligan was dumb, but he wasn't stupid. Never insult somebody who's bigger than you unless he's in chains.

Gilligan was dumb but you have to give Bob Denver credit for playing his role so well. He also did a great job as Maynard G. Krebbs in The Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis. His acting was very convincing and not many people would ever believe that he was a high school history & P.E. teacher before becoming an actor but he indeed was.
