Default Sitcoms that HONESTLY Never Jumped the Shark

What sitcoms do you HONESTLY believe never jumped the shark?

Im not talking shows that you THINK never jumped the shark.
Im talking shows where no big changes occured that could cause the show to jump the shark.

Like, IMO, Cheers jumped the shark for MANY people when Diane left.... but I happen to like it for all 11 seasons.

But say.... Gilligan's Island is a show that I can honestly say never jumped the shark.

I think Taxi jumped the shark when it switched networks and Latka went through his multiple personality phase.

The reason I say Taxi never jumped the shark is because there were episodes from the last season where the writing/plotline is just as good as the first season. The Latka & Simka episodes weren't that good, but those weren't the episodes I was talking about from the last season.

I see your point. It's possible.

The Odd Couple - If anything, it just got better as it went along.

The Dick Van Dyke Show - Same as with The Odd Couple.

I Love Lucy - They may have changed the setting in the last season, but the humor was always the same.

Andy Richter Controls the Universe - I know, it never had the chance to jump the shark. I just thought I'd mention it to show everyone I still love this 19 episode series.

Gilligan's Island - It got very silly towards the end, but then again, it was always a silly show, so it never really jumped.

Of course, I personally like shows with changes in them. I know I'm probably in the minority, but I enjoy watching the cast change and evolve throughout the years. It's not the cast change, it's the way the show deals with the cast change.

IMO.... none of the shows mentioned ever jumped the shark.
But there were times when people could say when a series jumped the shark.

For instance.... when Niles and Daphne got married on Frasier.
(even though IMO, Season 11 is the best)

I completely agree about The Odd Couple
Not to mention not jumping the shark.... I think The Odd Couple may be the only show that EVERYONE likes.

That's the one I was going to say!
Get A Life is another one; of course it was only on for two seasons.

Definately "The Dick Van Dyke Show"

Despite the departure of Rhoda and Phyllis, I really don't think "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" jumped either

Others IMO:
The Odd Couple (although it was never great)
I Love Lucy (I thought it was good even in Connecticut)
The Bob Newhart Show

These shows didn't get a long enough chance to jump but they're still classics:
The Munsters
F Troop
Gilligan's Island
The Addams Family

I have to disagree with some of those.
Im talkiking about "jumping the shark"
you may like those shows from beginning-to-end but a lot of them had there shark jumping moments.

Especially L&S with the move to California
and Richie leaving Happy Days
and Family Matters becomind "The Urkel Show"

Im not trying to say any of these shows are bad....
its just that they had moments where people could say it jumped the shark.

Whereas shows like The Dick Van Dyke Show,
The Munsters,
and Gilligan's Island had no real plot change, character departure, or change in setting that made the show jump.
