To me age is just a number, I have dated men who were both older and younger than I...

It definately depends on the age group you're in, and it's certainly true that the older you get, the less it matters.

Two years ago I briefly dated a guy who was two years younger than me. I was a sophomore in college, and he was a senior in highschool. Although we really liked each other, I just couldn't go on with it - we were just in two different worlds. I was dealing with midterms and he was dealing with college admissions and senior prom I'd already been through all that, and I didn't want to go back. So yeah, only a 2 year difference, but it was too much. Same thing happened with one of my friends who was dating a guy who had already graduated college and was working. He didn't want to be back at the football games and frat parties - he'd already done that. But once you're in the same group (both in the same school, both out, both working, etc) the age really doesn't matter. (My mom's two years older than my dad)

I'm also one to say that age is just a number, although I will admit that I am semi-shallow when it comes to dating a guy younger than me. I don't think I would date anyone who is more than a year or so younger than me. But when it comes to older I'm pretty flexible, you are only too old if you could drive when I was born.

Age is just a number, and/or, a state of mind. In the end, it dosen't really matter. Granted, I don't think some 40-year-old should go and do it with a twelve year old, but, with the exception of kids, I don't see what the big difference is with an age difference

I don't care too much. As long as he's nice and sane.

And yes...50 is too old. *coughs*

Well, I don't mean completely sane, because then they couldn't put up with me.

I like dating guys who are older than me by like 2-3 years. I don't like younger guys at all.

I don't know, really.. as long as you like the person, it shouldn't really matter. A few months ago I was with someone who was 17 years old. (I'm 15 basically.. few months) But that was short lived. All he wanted to do was hang out with his friends 24/7, never really had time for me. For now I'm going to stick to people somewhat closer in age to me..

My girlfriend is seven months younger than me. I used to say that I would never date anyone younger than me because I always wanted to be the youngest one in the relationship for some weird reason, but when I first got to know her I realized that she was so interesting and mature and that those seven months didn't make any difference.

Age really doesn't matter. And if you think it does, you have to try to get to know someone first before you judge them by their age.

I prefer someone older. The younger guys I meet party too much and aren't interested in settling down yet.

I think I prefer older because they become getting more tame once they hit a certain age. lol I can see a big difference in my boyfriend since he's turned 18 to now. At 18 he didn't want a serious relationship and claimed he wasn't going to have one until he was at least 21. We got together when he was still 18 (although it was late 18 by then), and he's now 20... When he was 15-17 he was too much into partying still, and I was never into that whole scene.

He's a little over a year older than me. I'm 18 and he's 20, but he just turned it the 21st of December. I'll be 19 July 1st.

I guess it all depends on what you're really into. If you're more into the partying thing more than most people your age I guess going with someone younger would be more for you. If you're more mature than people your age then going older might be for you. It doesn't have to go like that since everyone is different and you can't really catagorize them in age groups.
