Default My Monthly Rant

This morning I was reading an article in the NY Daily News about yet another Pit Bull attacking a child.

A three year old girl in the Bronx was bitten on the face by the family pit bull as the tot stepped in between a fight between the pit bull and another family dog.

Now I'm sorry folks, I don't care how many times I hear about how friendly and nice a pit bull can be if brought up in a kind and loving environment, I still think there is some faulty wiring in these dog's brains that can cause them to snap at any given point.
I don't care how well you treat a pit bull, I still think you're taking your life in your hands if you have one in your home.

Amen...my (now) ex best friend was bitten by a pitbull dog on the lips when she was 3...the dog almost ripped her whole lip off, and she had to get major stitches....

I agree. All dogs can be trained well, but its something about them that its in their nature. Some dogs are just naturally like that and people shouldnt own them if they have children. Theyre just asking for it.

Yeah, I heard about that story. Shame.

My neighbor used to have a pit bull, and he let it outside without a leash. Used to scare the crap outta me.

OMG! Those dogs are evil!

There was a mailwoman attacked by one of those the other day here in San Antonio. It bit her on the butt 10 times in the arm 3 times and on the legs 3 times. She had to get a lot of stitches and she is in a lot of pain and emotional suffering. And the owners of the dog were like. "he's never attacked anyone before... it's just cause he didn't know who she was" yeah right! your dog is evil!!!

I agree too. I had a co worker who owned a Pitbull and she was the nicest dog you would ever want to meet but I always kept my guard up around her. I always had the fear that she might snap because of all the bad things I heard about Pitbulls in the past. I would never want to own one. They say if you want a friendly, well tempered dog it's best just to go to the pound and adopt a plain old mutt.

I read this first as 'My Monthly Rent' and thought you were going to ask for money. Like the one thread Nate started to get us all to send him a dollar so he could go to London.

If you have a little kid, I don't think you should have any kind of big dog around, esp if you had the dog before the kid came into the picture.

My friend has a pitt bull, and its like the nicest dog. Its all how you train it. Most people get them for "protection".

I agree. It brings me back to the story of the woman who was mauled to death by the dogs in her apartment lobby. Terrible.

This doesn't sound like a pitbull my grandparent's next-door neighbors owned. My grandfather said it was the stupidest pit bull. He mentioned how it was stupid but I forget what it was. I've never seen the dog.
