Default Do you like to see your favorite sitcoms on Cable or your Local TV station?

I give my Local TV station the slight edge because the edited versions of All in The Family and Sanford were FUNNIER than TV LAND edited versions.

Personally.... I prefer DVD above all else.

But other than that, I really dont care.
But sometimes local channels do better with putting shows in order.

I agree concerning dvds, being able to own my favorite show and watch it anytime I want is more appealing. But in terms of tv, I've recently been following A Different World both on Oxygen and on my local UPN channel 9, and while I don't like that ch. 9 doesn't always show episodes in sequence, I appreciate that they don't run on-screen promos for other shows like Oxygen has been doing. Ch. 9 also doesn't have an announcer talking over the closing credits like Oxygen. Because I'm recording episodes, I'd like for them to be free of as many tv identifiers as possible.

I like my local channels the best. Usually they play a more diverse selection of episodes, whereas the cable channels air a select group of episodes, and barely ever show the rest.

My local channels are much more consistent with scheduling than some cable channels. When a show comes on one of my local stations it stays in the schedule a good long time. I wish my favorite show (Family Ties) would come on one of my local channels. Some cable channels are good though. I have found that TBS and TNT are good at airing shows for a long time and are pretty consistent with the order of the episodes. The Viacom networks (TV Land and N@N) are not good. TBS has been airing my second favorite show (Mama's Family) for years now and mostly in order, so they get a thumbs up.

On the local stations; I dislike the harsh editing of Tv Land...

My local affiliates edit them better but cable has more variety. My fox, wb and upn stations have some good shows but the big 3 stations mostly have news and talk shows.

The question was local or cable stations. Not local or DVD
