I have 7 out of 17 episodes of the cartoon Hardy Boys. I am still looking for the rest. Why am I doing this again?
P.S. to the Archie's fan above. You are probably aware of this already, but today is the day that several Archie boxed sets hit the market, including U.S. of Archie and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (cartoon version). |

Are you interested in trading or are you selling? -Michaela http://www.psnw.com/~michaela |

Hello, I didn't hear from you about whether you still wanted any Hardy Boys cartoons. Maybe you have them all already, in which case, I would like to try and trade for them, or buy them. What did you mean when you said you would "make it worth your while"?
THE HARDY BOYS ANIMATED SERIES EPISODE LIST Footprints Under the Window / Hunting for Hidden Gold* Mystery of the Desert Giant / The Viking Symbol Mystery The Secret of the Old Mill / The Missing Chums* The Secret Warning / The Mystery of the Aztec Warrior The Mystery of Cabin Island / The Hidden Harbor Mystery* The Secret of the Caves / A Figure in Hiding* The Ghost at Skeleton Rock / The Mystery of the Chinese Junk What Happened at Midnight / The Clue in the Embers The Clue of the Screeching Owl / The Yellow Feather Mystery The Mystery at Devil's Paw / The Haunted Fort* The Sinister Signpost / The Melted Coins The Hooded Hawk Mystery / The Short-Wave Mystery* The Phantom Freighter / The Secret of Pirates' Hill The Shore Road Mystery / The Sign of the Crooked Arrow* That just leaves 3 other episodes. I think the 6 stories in those are supposed to be The House on the Cliff, Mystery of the Spiral Bridge, Clue of the Broken Blade, The Flickering Torch Mystery,The Mark on the Door, and Secret of Wildcat Swamp. I have marked the ones I have with a * |

I was wondering if you had any of the episodes of the Hardy Boys cartoon that I don't have. I have right now most of the other incarnations of Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. Here is the short list:
4 Nancy Drew movies 1938-39 2 Hardy Boys Mickey Mouse Club serials 1955-56 7 of 17 cartoon Hardy Boys 1969-71 46 episodes of Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Mysteries 1977-79 most episodes of Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Mysteries 1995 Nancy Drew pilot movie 2002 I am still looking for the other animated episodes, the rest of the 1995 series, and a Hardy Boys pilot from 1967 called Mystery of the Chinese Junk. Here is the rest of my list (for now): STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION all 178 episodes taped from television on SP mode. The first season and maybe part of season 2 are taped from manufactured tapes, but I can't remember which ones. Not all in chronological order. STAR TREK DEEP SPACE NINE all 176 episodes taped from television in SP mode. First season not in chronological order, but the rest are. STAR TREK VOYAGER all 172 episodes taped from television in SP mode. BABYLON 5 all 110 episodes of the series and both versions of the pilot movie all on Columbia House tapes. I will probably charge or trade a little more for those. X FILES all 202 episodes taped from television on EP mode. Most are in chronogical order, but not all. It is also a common practice of mine to re-record an episode if I am not happy with how it looks so some episodes appear twice. PLANET OF THE APES all 14 episodes of the television series in SP mode. SPACE 1999 all 48 episodes of the series taped from laser discs in SP mode, except The Bringers of Wonder Parts 1 and 2, which is taped from the Sci Fi channel. Apparently, that episode was never released on a laser disc. LOST IN SPACE 1 tape in SP mode of the aired and unaired pilots THE OUTER LIMITS 1 tape in SP mode of two episodes of the original series, The Borderland and Demon With a Glass Hand. KNOT's LANDING: BACK TO THE CUL-DE-SAC 2 tapes in SP mode of the reunion miniseries, reuniting many of the original cast members. In the near future, I might also trade or sell these: LA FEMME NIKITA all 96 episodes taped from television in EP mode. The same rule applies as X-Files, that they are mostly in chronological order, and there are some episodes I had to tape twice to get a better copy. GENE RODDENBERRY'S EARTH FINAL CONFLICT 88 episodes of the series taped in EP mode. The first 4 seasons, but not season 5. I am waiting to see if season's 1 and 2 will be released on DVD. I will probably trade all of these, if I have them put onto DVD's: THE HARDY BOYS/NANCY DREW MYSTERIES 1977-79 I have all 18 of the episodes that were released on video, plus the laser disc version of the pilot on VHS, and all the rest of the episodes in various version. Someone recently graciously put all of the episodes on DVD for me. Several episodes are the uncut versions taped from a Canadian movie channel called Shadow Lane, and there are multiple copies of some episodes. The only problem is one episode that I have an uncut version of could not be put on DVD, so I am unwilling to relinquish that tape just yet, though it is grainy and hard to watch. RETURN TO THE PLANET OF THE APES all 13 episodes of the animated version of the series, all in SP mode THE INVADERS all 43 episodes of the series in SP mode. 12 episodes were taped from the tapes that were released on video. The rest of the episodes were taped from the SCI FI channel. BATTLESTAR GALACTICA the recent miniseries taped in SP mode and the special Battlestar Galactica The Lowdown aired around the same time. I also have a uncut manufacturer copy of the original pilot movie, but placed on the tape as a three-parter rather than a continuous movie. SOAP the first Columbia House tape with 4 episodes of the series. STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL the infamous ( and apparently illegal ) tv variety special reuniting most of the original cast of the first Star Wars movie. THE HARDY BOYS 5 episodes of the animated series. THE HARDY BOYS NANCY DREW MYSTERIES 1995 I have two tapes, recorded, I believe in LP mode, but I am not sure. Someone is currently putting them on DVD for me, and then I will see what I have. Not all the episodes are present or complete, so I am sure I will be looking for replacements. I also have lots of movies, but I will do a separate list for those. That's what I can remember right now so I will start with that. Thanks! |

By the way, do you know of anyone who transfers 16mm films to VHS or DVD?
I don't have any films personally, but a lot of times when I find episodes of the cartoon Hardy Boys they are on 16mm films, and people are either unwilling or unable to transfer them. Maybe it would help in the art of persuasion if I knew someone else that could transfer them. I know of two people specifically that might have all of the episodes I need between them, but they are on these films. Here is their emails, or websites, just in case. theredman01@yahoo.com www.toonarific.com is his website http://film.efghost.com/films.htm T. Shane Doyle Hello, on the T. Shane Doyle guy, here is the response I got from him several months back: -----Original Message----- From: T. Shane Doyle [mailto:tshanedoyle@yahoo.com] Sent: Thursday, October 23, 2003 8:09 AM To: Tim Grover Subject: Re: Sorry, I do not transfer copyrighted films to video and sell them, as it would probably get me into trouble eventually. If you had something I was looking for on video, such as Undercover Elephant, I would consider trading. I am seeking the entire series on film. I do not wish to part with any of the episodes I now have, but thanks for asking. Shane After that I met Aaron at Toonarific who was able to hook me up with one episode he had on VHS. I got him in connection with T. Shane Doyle and they were going to do some trading, but the last time I wrote to Aaron, he said that no trade had taken place as of yet. But here is the list of 16mm films Aaron said he had: Here is my complete list on 16mm film Sunken submarine / "The Mystery of the Aztec Warrior" Stolen Blueprints / "Hunting for Hidden Gold" "Mystery of the Desert Giants" / Stolen Rune Tablet "Secret of the Old Mill" / "The Missing Chums" "Mystery of Cabin Island" / "Hidden Harbor Mystery" Kidnapped Indian Prince / "The Short Wave Mystery" "Mystery of Devil's Paw" / "The Haunted Fort" "Mystery of Wildcat Swamp" / Mr. Barutti Kidnapping "The Clue of the Screeching Owl" / "The Yellow Feather Mystery" "Sinister Sign Post" / "Melted Coins" Fortune Teller & Kingfisher / "Pirate's Hill" About 5 or 6 of these I don't have. I don't know exactly what all of the episodes are on T.Shane Doyles list but I have a feeling that the other 4 we might need would be on there. I even offered to pay some money for Aaron to transfer a couple more of his episodes, but he hasn't wrote back for a while, and I can't get on the Toonarific site at all, either, to see what is happening. You might try to email Aaron himself check it out. theredman01@yahoo.com I'll write back soon! Tim Grover |

Hey Tim-
Toonarific.com is back up and running (much better and faster than before). I do have a lab in San Francisco that I use to telecine 16mm film to tape. I use them in association with my work and hobby - they are reliable and fairly inexpensive. I've had my eyes on ebay 16mm section for awhile since I think that is the only way to complete this collection unless someone comes forth to offer the remaining episodes. Let me know if you have any luck finding any film prints. I'd be happy to split the cost and arrange to have them transfered. I've updated my list with the Hardy episodes I have - check the web detail on my site. Cheers! -Michaela http://www.psnw.com/~michaela |
