Exclamation SAVE JO !!!

First and formeost, I am a longtime fan of the FACTS of LIFe comedy
series, among many.

Many TV viewers in their late 20's and on grew up alongside the cast of
this show and it's characters. We felt for them and they were
part of our lives!

Recently, it has been announced that there would be an FOL reunion (on ABC),
based around the death of Jo Polniaczek... a prominant and
loved character in the original series. THIS ENTIRE IDEA IS FULL OF
MALARKEY!

This is TOTALLY disrespecting longtime fans of the show, as well as
Nancy McKeon (the actress that brought Jo to life, in turn SAVING this entire series)!
Just look at how the ratings were before she arrived!

Why kill her character in order to make a quick buck on a so-called
"reunion episode"???

What's next? A HAPPY DAYS reunion at Fonzie's funeral??? And lemme
guess... he'd have crashed his bike into a chicken stand
(in front of Arnold's) and died. This does sound rediculous, but lemme
tell ya...THAT WILL HAPPEN if such gimmicks are continued
in Hollywood.

JUST because Nancy doesn't want to reprise her role as "JO", there is NO
reason to MURDER her character.

Let me tell you this...if this does indeed happen, watching FOL will
NEVER feel the same again.

This scenario is TYPICAL of Hollywood nowadays (the idea is VERY Rick
Berman-esque). They killed Captain Kirk in order to make
way for Picard's crew for the future Star Trek movies. Paramount also
killed Jim Phelps (after making him a traitor) in order to make way for
Tom Cruise to run the Mission:Impossible franchise.

THIS REEKS! Today, Jo Polniaczek. Tomorrow, Arthur Fonzarelli. And after
that, Jack Tripper gets killed in a kitchen fire at Jack's
Bistro, thus reuniting his roomates and Mr.Furley.
COME ON!!!

Viewers of these shows should be left with good memories of the series
and that's it.

"Deborah Dean Davis", the writer for the FOL reunion, has NO right to
murder a beloved character, simply because Nancy McKeon
doesn't want to reprise her role. Mrs. Davis obviously has NO
consideration for the fans who grew up watching the show, just as Rick
Berman is making life hell for Star Trek fans of the 60's series.

As the matter of fact, Davis was even a writer for Star Trek: The Next
Generation, so I'm really not surprised as to why she would do
this to FOL fans.

The idea of a TV reunion is to a) "relive" the feeling and laughs that
were provided in the original show... as well as b) thanking the older
fans and c) showing them that the network hasn't forgotten about them or
the show.

FOL is a comedy. How can we laugh at a reunion based around the death of
a beloved key-character?

I think the current plan for the FOL reunion is definitely in BAD taste
and Deborah Dean Davis needs to know.

For a GOOD example of a reunion movie, see CHiPs'99 (a TNT production).
The original cast came back together and NOBODY had
to die.The show was done in the same tradition of it's original 70's run
and the fans loved it!

I realize that Hollywood is moving to the Ally McBeals and Friends-style
sitcoms, however there is no reason to show disrespect to
the magical 70's-80's sitcoms that made us smile back then.

If you agree with me, please email netaudr@abc.com (ABC's audience-response network) and give them a piece of your mind!

I think they NEED to do the Reunion, for whatever cost. I mean, they can't wait too long for McKeon to help. Also they should do this for the cast to get together again. And for the older members of the cast, like Charlotte Rae. Who knows what will happen by then, alzheimers, severe sickness, possebly death!
Also, Don Knotts. It would be very hard without him to have a TC Reunion, considering that Audra Lindley died in 1997, Norman Fell in 1998. That's why they should also make a TC Reunion.
Also, I think Nancy should be there. Prob. without FOL, she would just be an average Jo (No Pun Intended).

I agree that they shouldn't kill her off but it's probably to late to do anything now. They've probably wrote out the script and possibly are already taping it.Sorry...

You have no one to blame but your idol, Nancy Mckeon. She's the one being not wanting to do it. And she could probably cared less if they killed her off seeing as she doesnt watch FOL because she doesnt want to re-live her puberty.

Actually you could blame the writers. Just because Nancy doesn't want to do the reunion, that doesn't mean they have to kill off her character. There are plenty of other ways to explain Jo's absence.

God, you people really make me laugh! First off, fol is part of a little something called....TV! Ya, Jo is my fave, and Jo always will be my fave, but everyone dies, and every knows it! It's too late now to do anything about it. Oh, what's with this crap of saying, "Blame is on your idol, Nancy." ????? See I dont quit get that one. So she has moved on, I don't see why all of you have to criticize about it. Maybe she's too busy, but none of us REALLY know why, so none of us should say anything about it.

Adele has a point you guys. We can't do anything about it. How do you blame Nancy??? So she's not doing it. SHE DOESN"T WANT TO!! She's an actress. She doesn't want to be known as Jo anymore she's moved on and that's life. So even though I love FOL and I love Jo that doesn't mean I'm gonna go and chew out the writers for killing Jo. Sure I wanna see her in the reunion show, but if she's not in it you'll just have to deal with it.

I totaly agree. Look, guys, you all should quit whining about Jo being killed off. It's going to happen, like it or not. Be grateful for just the fact that there will be a reunion movie at all, and that Lisa, Mindy, Charlotte have agreed to do it.

First of all, I knew that there would be some peopl disagreeing with me, therefore I did write "IF you agree with me...."

As well, I still do NOT agree with the fact that JO has to be killed off for a reunion to occur. There are MANY ways to excuse Jo's absence. As well, Kim Fields isn't even doing it. Does that mean she's gonna die too?

I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT I'M READING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, look. If they're planning to kill off one of the girls, I don't think we can do much about it. It shocked me too, but they ARE fiction. The best we can do is to ignore the movie and pretend it never happened.

That's a good part of fiction.

BTW...I just wanna say that it's a great pleasure to meet so many fans of this wonderful show! I live in Quebec, where they never even heard of Nick at Nite, USA, or any U.S. cable channels (except Fox) It sucks...therefore I have nobody to talk to about the show's episodes and great moments.
