Will DS ever be back on Trouble in the UK again? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I watched Diff'rent Strokes on Trouble in the Uk last year, and really enjoyed it. Since it isn't on DVD or video in the uk, I decided to start taping some episodes. Unfortunately, I had only taped a couple of episodes, when Trouble stopped showing it. About 5 months ago, I e mailed Trouble, and asked them whether they might put Diff'rent Strokes on again. They replied, and said that they had no plans to put it back on at the time, but there was a chance that it could be on again, and that I should keep checking their tv schedule for any news. I have regularly checked their tv schedule since then, but with no success. I was wondering if any uk viewers of Diff'rent Strokes think that either Trouble will show it again, or that it has stopped being shown completely?

I don't think it will, sadly. Trouble are terrible now, all the show is the Fresh Prince, crap like Hang Time, Malibu CA (actually Malibu's not so bad) and City Guys...Fresh Price is just rerun over and over! I like it but serious over kill. They're overkilling That 70s Show too. Plus we get trash like Date My Mate, Fancy Me Island, Red Hot Dance etc...all garbage.

I fear DS has suffered the same fate as Blossom, Swans Crossing and Out of This World - its never going to be aired again. Trouble was awesome back in the day but it sucks now.

Plus when they DID air DS they skipped a whole load of episodes, ones for some odd reason they probably found too "controversial" despite allow graphic sex/drugs references and even airing that Fresh Prince ep where Will gets shot. I just don't understand the logic. rolleyes:

Yes, it does look increasingly unlikely that Trouble will air Diff'rent Strokes again. I just hope that they will decide to show it again at some point. If not, hopefully another channel will pick it up, and will maybe treat it better than what Trouble did, by airing the more 'controversial' episodes e.g The Reporter or The Bicycle Man.
