This Mexican guy with an explosive temper (A co-worker recounted to detectives that he would blow his top and threaten him with a butcher knife when the guy would make jokes rediculing him) sexually assaulted a woman co worker who was a chef and than killed her later. He tried to disfigure her face to prevent identification by throwing a large boulder over her head over and over again. An absolutely horrific and brutal murder.
A couple of people on a slight hill overlooking the deserted road where the murder was taking place saw him pounding her again and again with the rock. When he saw them he took off in his car. She was long dead. The dead woman had a premonition in a dream a few days or weeks earlier (maybe there is a 6th sense to predicting the future that science will one day be able to explain) that her husband would severely beat her up. She believed it so much that she left her husband to go to a different state. Turned out the prophetic dream was half true. But only that the perpertrator was not her husband but another man - a Mexican co worker. Has this man been caught yet or is he still at large? Any updates on this case. I think it took place in Arizona or California. |

It seems to me that you are referring to Carlos Garcia Berdeja. The murder victim in question would be Jeanne Molina. Berdeja is still at large. He is still wanted for Molina's murder, which occurred in California in July of 1994.
As mentioned in the link below, one of Berdeja's co-workers told cops that, shortly before Molina's murder, Berdeja claimed to have killed someone in his native Mexico. Who that "someone" might have been isn't known, but it sounds to me that Berdeja may have killed at least two people! http://www.unsolved.com/0143-Berdeja.html |

I couldn't find any other threads where we've discussed this case. Is this the correct spelling of her name?
Jeanne Molina I looked around on google and the unsolved mysteries wikia site and couldn't find anything there. This case just aired. I hadn't seen it in a while. It looks like this could be another one of those cases where UM glossed over some truths to make a case more mysterious. According to Jeanne's husband, she had a dream where he beat her to death. Did she tell anyone else about this dream, or is the husband the only one who knew about this? To avoid being beaten to death by her husband, and having the dream come true, Jeanne moved about 300 miles away from him, leaving her 3 children behind. The youngest was only 2 years old. After settling in with a new job and a rental (I think they called it a "room"), she sends for her oldest child to join her. The night before her daughter was to come to town, Jeanne and, apparently a not very likable, co-worker went out together, presumably to celebrate her daughter's arrival the next day. Her mother and daughter looked all over to find her, at her apartment, her work, but couldn't. A couple walking their dog observed Carlos Berdeja dumping Jeanne in a lot and beating her in the head with a chunk of asphalt. (I don't think that part was to prevent her from being identified, as is theorized, I think he was just that violent. He'd raped her, strangled her, beat her with a chunk of cement, then ran her over with a car.) Anyway, I would like to know more about the situation surrounding this "dream". Did it really happen? After watching the segment today, I got more of a feeling that she and her husband were separating, heading toward divorce, for reasons other than a mysterious psychic dream. |

Today marks 25 years since Jeanne's murder, and Carlos Berdeja is still at large. He's probably in his native Mexico, but I'm sure he misses the luxuries of the US and probably has returned here for brief periods of time. Jeanne Molina is not his first victim and probably wasn't his last.
