Arrow Molly Ringwald and the other ex-lifers

Have you guys ever thought what might have happened if they stayed? I was just watching some of the Brat Pack movies, and I can't imagine Molly Ringwald on FOL. Can you guys?

If they decided to let the first season girls stay...they would of never had Nancy McKeon come, therefore the show would of never got the edge...ya know? We would never see the whole Blair VS Jo thing...i don't think the show would of lasted as long as it did if they hadn't done the major changes that took place.

I don't see Molly on FOL after the first season, because I personally wasn't fond of her in the first. I really don't see any of the 'x-lifers' doing anything after the first season. Nancy was always on the phone with Roger, Molly was just annoying (and Tootie took that up when she left), Sue Ann was always whining and fighting with Blair (no one can fight with Blair better than Jo), and Cindy just didn't have anything to her.
Tootie and Nat were just a perfect match who complimented each other well. It was/is just fun to watch them together because they light up the screen.
Nobody could've complimented Blair better than Jo, and no one could've complimented Lise better than Nancy.
Miss. G just held them all together!

The writers and producers were lucky to find the mix that the found between the four girls. If anyone else has been casted as ANY of the girls it wouldn't have worked.
...The cast being put together like that was just a miracle in the making!

If Molly was held back on FOL, which I personally think was unsuitable for her (and vice-versa), then she may never have moved onto better things. Imagine that- she may never have made it to "The Breakfast Club." FOL was just a good "stepping stone" for her.

I totally agree with everything just said! The first season cast wasn't really... mushed together as well as the other seasons

Didn't Molly Ringwald also leave to do "The Tempest". That's what E! said.

Yea, that was released in 1982, I think. She has appeared in many things.

I am so sick of hearing about how bad the other eastland girls were and how much better the show was when jo came on, yadda yadda yadda. Yes Mckeon definitely helped put the show on the map but i still think there was room to keep the other girls on a recurring basis especially the girl who played nancy after seeing her performance in the gossip episode,it almost seemed like the producers had a change of heart about her.

I also liked the first season girls. Jo, I have to admit, was very good too.

Well, I'm no Hollywood expert, but I would think it was like this. The producers quickly threw the show together and casted too many girls without knowing that it would be difficult to create such good chemistry with such a large cast, in a 30 minute show.

If they had more time to toy with the scripts and work them better, the show could've been VERY interesting with all the season 1 girls keeping their roles.

But I'm not complaining, since I'm more than glad that Jo came on board!
