another day of no school/no work. It sleeted all night, we've gotten 8 inches of snow since 6 this morning with freeing rain and more snow through the afternoon. This has been one of the worst winters I remember in a long time.

I know, I'm leaving in half an hour. Gotta get my car to the mechanic before the crap starts in my area. It's supposed to start around 3 and go all night till about 4:30.

I'm staying home tomorrow.

Yep. According to one of the newspapers out here (I live in the Midwest), it says this winter for my state is the worst one since the winter of 1995-96. And I remember that winter...it was REALLY bad and REALLY cold. Nothing compared to 1996-97, though. 95-96 was REALLY REALLY REALLY cold and 96-97 got a LOT of snow - we had 9 blizzards that winter and missed 10+ days of school. That resulted in us having to make up school on Saturdays for the reminder of the school year therafter.

I just hope all this crap out in the east coast clears up soon!

Me too. It's wreaking havoc with my vacation days. I need to start saving them for summer so I can take my two weeks in July.

You too if you have to go out. I'm home now. It started as soon as I got home from the mechanic.

They topped off the antifreeze, that should hold me till Thursday. If the roads are okay tomorrow, I'll just go in late.
