Seaquest: Kristen's wedding

Kristen sat starring off into space rather then seeing her sorrowful reflection in the mirror. I have to shake these feelings of something not quite being right and hurry on preparing myself to look beautiful on this most special day. She already did look beautiful in a flowing off white dress with a scallop hem that had tiny embroidered flowers. However, the usual twinkle in her eyes did not match the smile pasted on her face. “I should be happy!” Allowing only a few minutes for unsettling thoughts, Kristen quickly turned away from the mirror to a knock on the door. “Come in," Kristen called. “Hi mom." Cindy, I don’t know if this dress really flatters me. Trust me mom, you look drop dead gorgeous and when you walk down the isle, your future husband will not be able to take his eyes off you. Well, I certainly hope that he remembers how to say his wedding vows. Can you please help me on with this veil? Mom, I cannot believe how beautiful you look. Kristen swung around to face the mirror yet again and had to admit to herself that she looked damn good. Well, I guess that I am all set. Not quite yet mom. This is for you. As Kristen opened the box that Cindy handed to her she gasped, “Oh my!" With tears stinging Kristen’s eyes she hugged Cindy and thanked her for the precious gift. “Don’t go messing up all your makeup by crying!” Cindy scolded. The tears just seemed to stream down Kristen’s face mixing with her laughter. After regaining some semblance of control, Kristen asked if all the guests had arrived. “The last time I was out there, there must have been over 200 people!” Cindy stated in a little awe. Yes, well only the best for John and me. He certainly does know quite a few people. As Kristen was just about to ask another question concerning the gathering guests, a knock on the door interrupted her train of thought. Looking at Cindy with a questioning glance, Kristen crossed the room to open the door.

To Kristen’s surprise outside stood Katie Hitchkock.
“ Katie! What are you doing here?” Well, Kristen last time I checked I was on the invitation list along with a few others that are patiently waiting outside this door. “What!” Kristen exclaimed, a note of confusion in her voice. Katie winked at Cindy and opened the door farther along to allow Kristen a full view of the hallway, which contained members of the Seaquest crew. All the gentlemen: including Jonathan Ford, Ortiz, O’Neil, Ben, Lucas, and chief Crocker stood proudly sporting various tuxedos. Though Kristen realized some were more comfortable then others! Overjoyed to see all her old comrades, Kristen was left speechless. As she looked on, each one of them filed into the room but not before kissing the bride. Lucas spoke first, grinning and offering Kristen advise about not tripping down the aisle. The entire group laughed until their stomachs started protesting. Slowly one by one, her friends wished her well for her wedding and started out. “Lucas”, Kristen called out! Yeah doc what’s up? Lucas stood grinning at Kristen, while she asked the one question plaguing her mind all day. “Is Nathan here?" Lucas’s face told her the answer before he figured out where his voice was to answer NO. As Lucas turned to leave, he called over his shoulder for Kristen to hurry up. Closing the door, Kristen turned around and realized that her heart felt empty. This is not going to help me by being moody. With a quick shake of her shoulders, last look in the mirror, Kristen was ready to be married. All my insecurities and doubts will disappear once this marriage is done (OR WILL THEY?) .
