They had a spin off called Gloria but didn't go well. It lasted a season.

I don't think a sitcom with just Mike and Gloria would have grabbed the interest of viewers. Think about, Mike and Gloria without Archie and Edith for 30 minutes? Would have been a Disaster

It was my understanding that Rob and Sally wanted to be free for other projects. I know Sally did some TV films back then (one being a very enjoyable bio on Harry Houdini). I don't know what Rob got involved in. The sit-com "Gloria" just wasn't that good. The ony saving grace was Burgess Meredith. I agree a sitcom with just Mike and Gloria would have been deadly dull! And they'd have to incorporate the kid in there...bleh! Back then there werent' too many sitcoms with *little kids* in them. They were mostly teens. (One Day At A Time, Good Times, What's Happenin? etc. )
