Default Digital Camera Question...

How do I get the damn pictures to upload to my PC? I've read the manual, but I don't read 'Computer nerd', so, I'm in the dark about this.

Do you have some kind of transfer thing? Like...A printer that has all those slots for your memory cards...or a transfer dock (if you have a Kodak)...Or one of those things you plug into an USB port in the front (you can get them at office supply stores). ANYTHING?

I have a Nikon CoolPic 3100 digital camera, and I have a HP PSC 1350 printer that has this thing on the front of it with four slots for different-sized digital camera memory cards to go in...All you do is open the memory card slot in your camera, take it out and put it in..and it automatically transfers.

Nah, this is a Vivitar Vivicam 3315. It has a USB port, and a plug that goes into my PC, but I can't figure out how to upload the pics. I really want to post some pictures of my new mouse.

Ooo, I have a friend that has the same thing you have...If you have XP, there should be a "Devices with Removable Storage" thing in the My Computer folder. Go look for that there.

Damn. I guess I'll re-read the manual, see if I missed anything.

you will have to install the software that came with the camera (or look on their website to download it)

yeah all you do is download the software (it should have came with a cd) and then plug the USB cord into the camera on one end, the computer on the other. Some computers have usb plug ins right in the front of the comp. After that, it should start on its own once you turn on the camera.

The first thing I did was download all the software that came with the disk. Still didn't work. I went to Radio Shack to get a 3v adapter, and asked the clerk what the problem was; how to get the pictures to upload. He plugged the camera up to the computer there. The pictures uploaded, and he printed on off. the thing is, I did the exact same thing before I took the camera in. So now I know it's not the software, but my computer.

So, now I'm faced with a problem: Keep the camera (that can also take videos, making this problem even worse ), and wait to get a new computer (Who knows when that will be). Or, I can return it and get my 93 s back. What should I do?

uninstall the software, rip the drivers IN SAFEMODE, go to windowsupdate.com, look for updates (specifically for windows/usb/or chipset drivers), see if you can find out what chipset your MB is and go to their website and look for updated drivers (USB drivers are usually part of the chipset drivers)

after you've done that, try to reinstall the camera software, following the instructions (if there are any) - usually it is very important that you install the software before the cam is ever plugged in
