Does anyone here know if the fictional name Eastlake was derived from Westlake? I know that Charlotte Rae "discovered" Mindy Cohn at the Westlake School for Girls during the summer of 1979. I also happen to know that many famous actresses such as June Lockhart and Shirley Temple went there way back in the 1940's.
Also, why was it changed from "Eastlake" to "Eastland"? |

Eastland did come from Westlake, and they give you some info on it on The E! True Hollywood Story. They changed the name from Eastlake to Eastland, I think because Westlake did not want them using their part of their standard name for their school, so they changed it to Eastland.

Do you think Eastland shoes ever minded having the fictional school with the same name?
