I had not seen an episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show on TV since I had bought the first two seasons on DVD until the other day, and what a difference. You never realize how grainy the episodes on TV are until you have seen the clean versions on DVD. I couldn't believe the difference.
I realize this should be obvious due to the quality of DVD's, but I still was not prepared for what I saw. |

Burford,
I noticed the same thing when I started getting the T/L sets. It leaps out at you .The sound was even incredible. Although I usually watch TV Land on a home theater system, the shows on dvd seem more stereophonic than when on TV, although I'm sure they were originally recorded in mono. Steve |

You're right about the clarity of these DVDs. You can even see things you're not supposed to
![]() How many of you have seen the shadow of the boom mikes moving across the sets in various episodes? The first time I saw one, I backed up the scene because I wasn't sure what it was I was looking at. Steve is right about the sound quality also. Very good. If only these sets had English subtitles, they'd be perfect. |
