Mickey & Trudy Thompson case
I found a website with a little more information on this case. The person being held pending trial for arranging these murders, former business partner Michael Goodwin, has been held without bail for 22 months while there's a legal battle whether the Orange County D.A. has jurisdiction in this case. I don't really have a clear opinion who hired the killers, but in this article Michael Goodwin gives his theory on who had them killed.
