Default Did anyone else find Michelle annoying?

I was just wondering because I certainly did. In the later seasons, I got so sick of her saying "DUH!!!" with that snotty little look on her face every so often. It was actually kind of funny the first couple of times. But then when she kept saying it over and over and over again endlessly, I got so sick of her.

And remember the episode where Jessie and Becky brought home a box full of cake samples for their wedding? Michelle dove into the box crawling inside it making a mess before they could decide and everyone was just laughing. I kept thinking, if I had done that when I was little, my parents would have given me a spanking I would never forget.

She was fine when she was a todler. But when she talked more and more, I just got so sick of her.

You know, I didn't really notice the first half dozen times the series played through. It wasn't until they started putting the Brady Bunch back on. Cindy was adorable and made me realize that Michelle had a sassy mouth.

Michelle was a smart baby and toddler, then she turned bratty and into a smart aleck. She had no business saying "Duh" and rolling her eyes at people. And when she was school age, I didn't like the way she would make a snippy comment and kind of grin with her lips together and sort of nod, as if to say, "I sure told them".

She's so cute, she makes you want to puke.

Michelle always got away with murder.

Default Michelle

O yeah, I think that to. I saw the epidoe then they goes to Diseny World in Florida (al family sitcomes does that, I guess). She was picking at Stephanie always and even in the episides in season 6 she was a little bit of annoying. And yes, most kids is talked to not say the things she always said. We always remeber Steph in the age of 5 and she was never annoying as Michelle.

But why was she as she was? In one episode she (whats the namen in english, well she did a nasty snorl in Steves ear) snorled Steve and noone told her to get of with that. I remeber when the other Tannerssisters (Steph & D.J.) learned her to say bad things, that was the first time she was dumb with purpuse but Steph and D.J. told her to get of with that. Maybe she never learned in that case. Yeah, she was a little bit of annoying.

I totally agree. I can see a little kid doing that once or twice when they are like four and not know any better, but if they keep it up it should not be tolerated. My mother would never let me act that way and if I did I would be punisahed for it. When I was younger and watched Full House I didn't notice Michelle's attitude much, but ever since it has been on N@N I have really gotten sick of her attitude, smart mouth, and bad acting (Well the last point was the Olsen twins fault not Michelle's). I liked Stephanie much better when she was Michelle's age. She could be annoying, but it is just like with any little sister. She acted normal, and she wasnt annoying in a rude way. I prefer Michelle from age 2-4.

Tropical Punch 19,

What do you mean it was the Olsen twins fault, not Michelle's?

I don't find Michelle annoying, but it's just I don't really think it's polite when she says "DUH!" and "Oh, Puh-lease!". My parents would NEVER let me talk like that, and if I did they would really punish me, but I never talk like that.

What I meant was that MK&A played the character of Michelle, and personally I don't think they were the best actresses. I was impressed of how professional they were when they were younger though. I find it annoying that the last couple of seasons it became the Michelle and Jesse show.

I AGREE. i just compared her to the little cosby girl..i think shes ravyn? and Chrissy from growing pains.. they could act. and well, the olsen twins always seemed like they were reading their lines, talking like robots. they were cute the first 3 seasons.. but eh, they capitalized on the MKA thing and the show became about them, i loved steph she was adorable when she was little. and im sorry, but i CAN diss MKA, because well theyre million billion trillion airs or whatever, and im here .. well, yea. LOL

You're right, now that you mention it. They should have been natural actors being in front of the cameras since they were infants. But they DID sound like robots! DJ overacted. She exaggerated and (over)enunciated everything she said. She freaked out over little things and her voice would get real high pitched when she was excited. I hated the way she would squeal Steve's name. I think Stephanie did the best acting.

*Sighs*

thre are some people here who do not look at the show. I'm sorry, but if you actually tried to think like a writer like I do and see the reasons behind it youwould know exactly what happened.

First, who is the mom. Pam's not around, so who's teaching her from toddlerhood till he moves into the 3rd floor when she's 4.5? Who's she hanging around even after that? It's Jesse. Jesse, the one who's improving but still has that rebel attitude. It's so obvious; that's why int he books she's so much sweeter, more compassionate, more sensitive, and would never talk like that. Because Jesse's always been int he attic fromt he start, Joey the basement apartment, and *D.J.* was the mom for her.

BTW, if you've never had teens, don't criticize D.J.; I work with teens and I *know* they are melodramatic. She was an excellent teen.

And she had a reason; int he back of her mind was Michelle. She *did* punish Michelle behind the scenes. In "Take My Sister, Please," when Michelle gives her a *duh*, who's the only person ever to glare at her for it? D.J.. And Michelle gives a look like she knows she's been bad. D.J. has worked with her quite a bit to eliminate the Jesse attitude; danny wouldn't punish Michelle at all till she was almost 4, so D.J. had a big hill to climb. And reacted a lot, while she was proactive otherwise.

One other thing - spanking should only be as a last resort, i think, and the Tanners adults wouldn't do it at all, but I not only think D.J. would if she had to, I think she *did* threaten to spank Michelle, and put her in timeout many other times. How else would Michelle be as good as she was? And in "Smash Club: The Next Generation," look at Michelle with her head down when everyone else is clapping to the beat and the lyrics are "whip him good." I don't think she's dozing, I think she's remember D.J. at least threatening to spank her.

BTW, *never* let me read about complaints about eye rolls. I AM BLIND, AND THEREFORE AM NOT BOTHERED, SO YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE, TOO! 20/800, anyway. An eye roll never hurt anyone,a nd I know of someone so scared of telling about a problem in Junior High w/an emotionally abusive, bitter, combative teacher they tried to kill themselves, almost. *People, let your children express themselves in a pos9itive way! Don't punish for it!*

*Sigh* This just gets me too aggravated when people can't see how important it is to love each other. But, that's also why I love the books. you'd never complain about the books, because D.J. likely put Michelle int imeout when she just turned 2, like Jesse does w/his boys, and she would say something once and Michelle would listen. And that chocolate scene, Michelle would know she was going to her room and wouldn't have dessert for a week, and that would be enough, as it always was for me when I was misbehaving. (NOT ALL CHILDREN NEED SPANKED!

I'm sorry for the last tirade toward the end, seeingt how this one teacher hit for things like untied shoelaces and stuff got to me I think when I read about what one poster said would bring one; it's wrong, as we need to be loving and forgiving, and only as a last resort do soemthing like that.

I have learned with Full Hosue to be calm as I was before Junior High, though,a nd accepting of this stuff; the fact i can picture Michelle getting spanked by D.J. and not be bothered and not have it taint the show for me is a MAJOR MIRACLE. I hope you all understand I was so sensitive just earingt a raised voice would have me cringing and crying. I'm a major wimp, and I admit it, I've never been confrontational.

I came back to this board to get info ont eh reunion if it is coming or not, and now I will leave again, b/c I sense so much bitterness at Michelle, and bitterness is something I must avoid daily. I can't let things like this clog my thoughts. Bitterness only destorys, like it did witht hat teacher; I need to keep building others up, and being built up myself, and reading bitter people's thoughts just makes me cringe.

It's not your fault, you're used to it, and if you'd just say you'd be punished for the chocolate thing I wouldn't have been upset; even a fwap perhaps, but I need to see parents being in control, and that just makes me think of out of control, hatefilled bitter people, and I can't see that, can't be near it.

But,t hat's why I love Full Hosue and shows like it; everyone loves each other, and cares, and doesn't stay mad. Just like my Jesus, who came to this wicked earth from His pfect throne in Heaven and died for me. For ME, the chief of sinners, so I could be forever in that perfect Heaven. Oh, praise the Lord, there is true love, that God should come down to earth for me. he has delivered me from so much darkness, and into light.

Don't worry, i would never hurt myself, b/c I do love to tell others of Jesus and His love for them, and my life is in Him. I know I sound odd like this, but I am an emotional person, and I care so much for others. Sometimes a little too much, but as I say, I'm willing to accept spanking and stuff now as something that happens, just not "spanking I'd never forget" for something so little.

Thanks for understand; and for those who rpay for me.

Sorry,t hat's "Another Opneing, Another No Show" where we hear the other REM singing that song, and Michelle is loking doowncast, w/the lines "whip him good."

See, I feel like I have to correct every little thing, and that's not usually me, unless I'm having a reaction to the problems earlier in my life. Which is why I'm getting off these boards for a good while. And sleeping w/a couple stuffed animals tonight to help me remember the peaceful times; they're symbols of the Lord's love to me right now.

Thanks to those who pray for me. Love ya, bye.

I always liked Michelle (although Stephanie is my very favourite kid in FH), she never really annoyed me although it annoyed me how she was ALLOWED to be bratty and obnoxios. Michelle seemed to get real special treatment from Danny and the other adults, she got away with everything but the others would get in trouble all the time? That was the only thing I've never liked about FH, the unfairness in the way Michelle is treated like the little Princess while the other's aren't so much.

But don't get me wrong, I'm a huge FH fan and do like Michelle. Just some of the parenting was a bit...off at times IMHO.
