OFF TOPIC: SBTB Geek where did you get your avatar? I think it is awesome!

I made it out of this picture... ... and then I used photoshop to make it the way it looks now.

So, just regular paint will work?
If so, how do I get the picture to the program?
Also, how do I know how big the picture is? All the pictures I've tried to use are either too big or they aren't the correct format?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Microsoft Paint will work...but you are limited to what you can do. You can get a decent paint program for 30-40 dollars that will allow you to add special effects, remove red eye, etc.

The easiest method, if you are at a webpage, is probably just right clicking on the picture you want and copying it then pasting it into paint. Make sure your canvas (the white background in paint) is the same size as the picture you are working with....you don't want an image and then white edges. You don't have to worry about the size of the canvas - just shrink it to what you think would be smaller than the picture and have paint resize it for you.

To see how big the picture is from a webpage just right click it and go to properties and look at the dimensions. To see how big it is in Paint go up to Image and then to Attributes.

This helps alot. I'm more intersted in using the actual picture instead of putting it in paint and messing it up! LOL!
