Default What version of Sanford and Son do you think is better, TV LAND or UPN?

If you have eps of Sanford and Son from your local UPN station and TV LAND, do you agree that UPN versions are better? In my opinion, UPN version of Surprise Party is much better. Anyone else?

UPN versions are the same as the originals on NBC, correct?

Unfortunately, the UPN affiliate here is not showing S&S at this time, and hasn't been for quite a while...

TVL Canada doesn't really cut the episodes up. I mean they say the "N" word in it with no edit.

Sitcom Analyzer, have you noticed in the episode where Fred, Lamont, & Rollo go to jail for almost being in a porno movie, there was a scene at the jail when the porno movie director, who was in the next cell, asks Fred for a lighter & Fred sticks his hand out the director, who appeared to be gay, grabs Fred's hand and won't let go. TV Land always cuts out that scene but on local stations they always show it. I taped that episode off a local Fox station & that's the only time I have seen that episode with that scene in it.

Generally, the local stations have a better editing job.
TVLand is too damn "PC". They cut references to gay people (ie. the director in the jail cell) and they are terrified to use "N__ger" on there. I mean, hell, if Redd Foxx and Sherman hemsley (on The Jeffersons) could say it on national tv 30 years ago...
Come on TVLand.

In the end, the best thing to do is just buy the dvds. For around $21 to $30 you can buy most any single season (that is available) from amazon.com. It is well worth it in my opinion. You get to see the shows the way they were meant to be and with none of the same old top 5 commercials that run over and over (credit cards, male/female enhancement pills, new cars, 2nd mortgages, and of course DEBT CONSOLIDATION to fix the first four.)

N@N uses the N-word but I don't think TV LAND uses it at all.
