The first time I saw that episode I didn't care for it very much, but the second time I saw it, it kind of grew on me.

Speaking of Bunny Mather, I get a certain impression when watching her, and I'm wondering if any of you get the same impression....

Bunny always strikes me as kind of simple-minded (even a little mentally slow). While many wives who cheat on their husbands are sly and devious about it, Bunny has sort of a "Gee, what's the problem?" attitude. It's like she doesn't really realize that what she's doing is wrong!

She had the same attitude in a later episode where she and Lowell were divorced, but started sleeping together again. She had that same clueless "So what's the big deal?" attitude.
While some might attribute Bunny's attitude to her being totally without morals, I personally think that a lot of it comes from her not being able to think and mentally reason the ramifications and consequences of what she's doing.

Maybe Bunny didn't know any better and thought it was okay to sleep around, divorce and then sleep with Lowell again (and for being a stupid person, Lowell certainly is a machine! Why the heck did she leave him?!?).
I don't seem to see that she cheats with intentions, like most normal people do, she just thinks it's natural.

By the way, I wrote this thinking that the episode was on Saturday (I usually don't see the weekend episodes, I need the extra sleep!), but I ended up finding out that the TV Guide listing said Thursday Oh well.

Anyway, this is one of the few episodes where Thomas Haden Church shows up shirtless, but that's besides the point (okay, he also had that long, floppy bowl-cut hair, too ).

I see Bunny as an alleycat personally... no morals about sex at all, and also a selfish person. She just wants what she wants, when she wants it.

There's also something very clever about this episode....

At the very end of the episode, where Lowell is on top of the roof and starts yelling profanity at the guy down below who is making out with Bunny in his car, the church bell starts to ring....

As it starts to ring, the rooftop scene goes black and we see the usual "specific episode" closing credits (white lettering against a black background")...and every time the bell rings, the closing credit letters shake back and forth from the bell vibration.
That was really a cool (and funny) touch!

Great episode! Antonio was hilarious. One thing that these first few seasons of Wings has that most other sitcoms dont have is great character development. These aren't 1 dimensional characters. How the writers and actors on Wings never won awards boggles the mind.

Something I noticed when Joe and Brian awaken Lowell from the plane, the numbers on the plane were N121PB. I distinctly remember other episodes when Joe would be contacting the tower, he would refer to the plane as November 121 Papa Papa,
not November 121 Papa Baker

Were these the years when Frasier kept winning the Emmys?

As I understand it, the only two Emmy winners were Kelsey Grammer and Tyne Daly. Both were just guest stars and I didn't think it was fair for a couple of guest stars to come by and win an Emmy when the cast who was there throughout the years didn't get a thing.

That's probably why "Wings" is often thought of as the worst of the Cheers-Wings-Frasier shows. Of course, we all know that's not true.

To answer Janice's question (Or Not to answer her question ) I don't know if anyone else was nominated.

yes!! that has always bugged the heck out of me!! whenever you see the plane, it says "N121PB" on the side of it. But when they're flying it, they always identify themselves on the radio as "Nevada 121 Papa Papa", which would be "N121PP"..... I never could figure that out.

I enjoyed this episode. Lowell is really starting to grow on me. There were some moments when he would get the saddest look on his face or he would look down. Since he plays a...what's the word??...dimwitted man I guess, I forget that Lowell has feelings of his own. Still waters run deep.

I just about cried when, atop the steeple, he told Joe that if he got mad that Bunny would leave him to which Joe replied that she already had. Lowell looked so sad when he replied, "I know Joe."

I might add, and AngeFaitore, you'll love this -- Lowell is a hunk! When he leaned up after waking in the plane, I was like whoa, what have we got here, lol. Thomas Haden Church's face has great bone structure....nice chiseled features. He's tall, well-built and has great hair.

Until this episode, I never looked beyond the mechanic with the overloaded tool belt, complete with coffee mug, lol.

Actually I am fairly sure it was NANTUCKET 121 Papa Papa

I remember once the number were different on the plane, I don't know if it an error on the part of "Wings" but it was N121PB not N121PP

Yeah, I already knew he was shirtless (Unless it's an R or NC-17 movie, an actor can't really be nude!), since I've already seen the episode too many times to count.
I also have Bye, Bye Bunnie where he was shirtless, too.
My VCR has screwed up on the few times I've tried to tape "The Bogey Men", but I know we get a little shirtless action in that episode, too.

I've loved these season 2 episodes where Thomas grew his hair out long and wavy (His hair looks more attractive long when he was on "Wings" as opposed to the mangled long hair he had on "Ned and Stacey"). You can tell that this was before he started having his hair colored, because it actually looks natural.
