Matlock is about as exciting as Perry Mason. Geez, you gotta be over sixty to enjoy this snore-fest. Watching bowling would be more entertaining.

Overall, I liked this show. Lawyer shows are, by nature, a little stuffy because court cases have rules they must follow. TV, though allowed some dramatic license, must retain some of those rules in order to make the show believeable. Thus, the stuffiness. They handled the cast changes well, too.
There was a patch of episodes later in the series where they had Ben behaving quite childishly. He whined a lot. A LOT. I hated that. I find myself grumbling back at Ben when I watch those eps. Luckily they apparently got a clue, and stopped writing the character that way, and brought back the more likeable guy!

Some episodes are good but the show never got me that involved. It just was never exciting enough but wasn't horrid either if this makes sense.
