THIS is WHAT THE ARTICLE SAYS:

Even though CBS hasn't made it official, it looks like Becker is coming to an end. "They never really cancel things", says star Ted Danson. They just let them disappear." So Dason and Co. used this week's epsoide(Wednesday 1/28 9:30 ET) to end the series with what Danson says "some degree of grace." In the finale, titled "D.N.R."(Do Not Resuscitate), grumpy Becker finds happiness. "But" Danson says "he morose over the fact that he's happy. I love that." While CBS says the show could return, the actor claims the cast and crew knew from the start that they''d be gone by mid-season.
"We've already gotten through the disappointment of being cancelled," he says. But Danson won't be gone for long. Next month he'll star in the CBS movie It Must Be Love with wife Mary Steenburgen.- Tom Holland

It sounds to me Ted got fed up with CBS, and said "screw it I quit."
SO I'm guessing even if it did find its way on the schedule next fall, Danson wouldn't commit. I don't blame him at all. I guess CBS forgot that he came from the award winning, long-running comedy "Cheers". Dame CBS.

If he were to do a new pilot, do you all fans think he would go back to NBC? Or would try ABC? What everyone's opinions on this article, and my questions?

It's just like Becker to be morose about finding happiness.
