Post When Facts of Life went downhill...

Facts of Life got really stale after Blair and Jo graduated Eastland. Then Mrs. Garret moved from the school and started her catering business. Then they let that obnoxious little brat Andy become a regular on the show. Then Mrs. Garret left the show completely. During the time, the cast started getting REALLY bad haircuts. And then they let that Australian girl into the show.

And that is when Facts of Life went bad.

I liked the way it all happend. You can't hate it because things change. Change is one of the "facts of life". It gives the show life.

I think that the show went downhill when they changed locations. Now, I don't mean Edna's Edibles, but Over Our Heads. It was a very goofy and weird setting for the show. I know that the show would have been awful if they kept them at Eastland, but it would have been better if they had moved to deluxe apartment in the sky or something.

I don't know why you would say that.

I think it went downhill when Pippa joined. Andy and Beverly Ann were ok to me, but i just didn't like Pippa too much.

The show went down hill starting in season seven. You saw the phaseout of Mrs G and replacing her with replacing her with Beverly Ann. Miss Leech oops Leachman is one of the worst actress in history. Like as Phillis on Mary Tyler Moore arggggggggggg. They should have ended it after season seven. I rate season eight as the worst season of them all. And although nine was an improvement, it was at best fair. The best approach would have to spun it off with Blair owning Eastland, Jo running it and brand new girls involved. The final two episodes had the right basic idea but too little too late. I'm glad Sherrie' was on the FOL's because it financed the start of great singing career, but 8 and 9 should never have happened with Beverly Ann.
