I can't speak for everyone, but the problem I had was how rushed everything was. First he was this goofball freaky guy who thought he was going to die when he turned 30, which he of course didn't. (which also makes him too old for Jo) then all of the sudden they went on a date. Ok, that's fine. Then all of the sudden he's completely in love with her and wants to marry her and she says yes and they get married like a day later because he needs to go on tour for music for a month. I've never heard of anyone being able to book a chapel on such short notice. It was ridiculously rushed and MAYBE if they had had more time dating and getting to know each other we could've seen what Jo saw in him. But since this all happened in the span of 10 minutes in 3 episodes, we all just hate him. Ok, not all of us, but many of us. Hope that explains it.

I like Rick. I just think Jo is to good for anyone......except maybe me. Ha! Wishful thinking...

Anyway, Rick is ok to me. Use your own skills to deside wether you like him or not. Judge yourself.

Like TvAddict, I agree. Rick was a loser, simply.

"Hate" is such a strong word to use against Rick considering that he is not a thief or a murderer (or anything in that category). However, being a college student myself, I can't understand why on earth Jo would marry a piano player after she worked SO hard to get through Eastland and Langley. Not that Rick is supposed to "support" her...of course not, that's old-fashioned. But in a situation like that, Jo would probably end up supporting Rick at some point.

I mean, her parents sacrificed so much to give her the very best, and then she married a piano player?

I am not saying that there's something wrong with playing the piano, but unless you're one of the all-time great piano artists......

I like Rick too.

Tootie: They're so perfect for each other!
Jo: Yeah, she makes peoples sick and he cures them.
Blair: The moon was but a chin of gold a night or two ago. And now she turns her perfect face upon the world below. The Moon. Emily Dickinson.
Jo: It’s freezing. Jo Polniaczek

Yeah, I agree - Bill was OK. Even if Rick and Jo weren't "perfect" for each other, think of the alternative: EDDIE. He was scum, in my opinion. Not telling her the was married, all that stuff. He probably wouldn't have been a faithful husband anyway. At least Rick seemed to be a nice guy and was devoted to Jo.

Oooooh, that's cuttin' a bit low, eh? Yes, Eddie did make a mistake for not telling Jo about his marriage. BUT, he was going to get a divorce, AND it wasn't like Jo and Eddie were TOGETHER when he got married. He didn't cheat on her or anything like that. Eddie loved Jo, and vice versa. It was a relationship, unlike that flash in the pan wedding with Rick.

Here's a question: How many combined minutes of episodes did Rick actually appear in? What, 3 minutes? 5? Maybe around 7 minutes?

UNDERDEVELOPED.
